The character arcs are pretty flat and nearly everyone in the book is unlikeable. Except Niam.

It pits traditional medicine and pseudoscience. The main character Maya/Mahalakshmi experiences a lot of subtle to overt racism.

She worked at a big hospital as gyno, and leaves to work at a concierge practice where patients mostly get ridiculous treatments like crystals to put in your hooha. Then Amelia, (who has a G**p type company hires her.

She is a mom of three kids, trying to balance it all, but reading this makes having kids seem pretty shitty.

It still had some funny moments and I read it in a few hours. About 70% in it drags… but I wanted to read the end.

The underlying realities of rich people being able to afford nonsense and most people can’t even see a GP when they need to infuriated me, and I hope it does with other readers.

This was good!! Loved the issues it discussed, and of course it was a nice light read, not too predictable, but also not too heavy or thought-requiring. A pastel read like all others, but a good one, and an important one
