This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance Summary Lady Pandora Ravenel isn't like all the other debutantes, she isn't preoccupied with looking for a suitable match, or talking non sessically about the weather, she is always looking for new designs for her board games and the best ways to implement them. While doing a favor for a friend, she gets caught in a delicate position and before she knows it she is compromised by none other than Gabriel St. Vincent. Gabriel has spent years making sure he would never be caught in a scandal, and for the first time he is caught but he isn't all that unpleased about it. There is something about Pandora and her resistance to marriage that intrigues him. He knows he will need to convince her that they are well suited, that he would never control or try to change her. But will Pandora discover a life with Gabriel worth the sacrifice, a tender and sweet love she never expect to find... The Hero Gabriel St. Vincent, was raised in a loving home with parents who raised him to be strong and resilient. To be kind and considerate and supportive. Gabriel is careful with the sexual appetites he has and never to be discovered. His father's rakish reputation is placed upon his shoulders. Gabriel is a hero you can swoon over. He is the perfect mix of both Sebastian and Evie (Our couple in Devil in Winter) He is charming, tender, accepting but he is also playful and inherited his father's rakish nature. I loved his character so much, he just makes me smile just thinking about him and his mischievous nature that is sexy as sin. Being imaginative and playful doesn't make you any less of an adult." Gabriel said gently. "It only makes you a more interesting one." The Heroine Pandora Ravenel is not like the rest of her family. She is a hellion, was free at a young age to go wild and free and explore. Her mind thinks in different ways and she can be a bit untamed. She doesn't understand society's restrictions on women and refuses to get married and lose her rights as a person and seeing her dreams go out the window. Pandora was a heroine I honestly wasn't sure how much I would like in this one. But seriously, after the first chapter I knew I would really adore her character and Kleypas has such a talented way of winning you over. Pandora is free thinking, spirited, and not concerned with the Ton. She has a crafty mind, very intelligent but says exactly what is on her mind. Plot and Story Line Now I honestly can't say that this is my all time favorite book that this author has written(Because I just LOVE everything she writes)...but it is the most surprising and crafty romance I have ever read from her. This book surprised me in so many ways, I honestly had high hopes for this book and Lisa Kleypas surpassed all my expectations from this book. And there were so many fun moments, a feisty and clever dialogue that will keep you thirsty for more. The story starts off with seeing Evie and Sebastian together (yeah loved this part but it sets the stage for the story and we also get some delightful moments of Westcliff) then we see the scandal that happens. Now its all very innocent but doesn't look good in the end. Why would I be amused by the sight of a young woman posing upside down on a piece of furniture?" I'm not posing. My dress is caught in the settee. And I would be much obliged if you would help me out of it!" "The dress of the settee?" the stranger asked, sounding interested "The settee." Now Pandora is all resistant to marrying Gabriel. She doesn't see the need for it. However Gabriel is persistent and convinces her and some of her family to come to an estate for a visit. This is basically where Gabriel and Pandora discover and learn each other and the more time they spend together, the more they fall in love with one another. I loved the built up of their relationship. They have powerful chemistry that is off the charts, (and man can Kleypas write a fantastic kissing scene) and we see the relationship that Gabriel has with his parents and his siblings. Gabriel isn't sure of Pandora at first. She is so different from any other woman he has met, but he is soon captivated by her. His family easily accepts her too, in fact they are all quite charmed by her. You dazzle me, Pandora. Every beautiful, fascinating kinetic molecule of you. The night we met, I felt you like an electric shock. Something about you calls to the devil in me. I want to take you to bed for days at a time. I want to worship every inch of you while minutes smolder like moths that dance to the flame. As Pandora is of them, she rarely gets such quick acceptance from people. And seriously Gabriel and Pandora when they get together it is simply swoon worthy, I love the way they build love and trust with each other. They share passion that is sizzling, but they also have a strong emotional bond that shines through the pages. And we get a bit of a teaser toward the end that leaves you curious to see how Kleypas is going to handle that angle. This romance leaves you with a giddy and floating in the air happy feel and wrote this book in such a delicate way and just proves how truly talented she is at writing romances that leaves you breathless and eager for more. The Cover How can you NOT love this cover...its simply breathtaking!!! I love the colors here, the blues are so very pretty and love the floral background. And the stepback pose is so very romantic. Overall View Devil In Spring is a sensual filled romance that has a clever dialogue, characters to melt your heart and an engaging plot that delights and shocks you from time to time. Get read for a tale of a lifetime. A LUSCIOUS AND DEEPLY RIVETING TALE Dangerous creatures, wallflowers. Approach them with the utmost caution. They sit quietly in corners, appearing abandoned and forlorn, when in truth they're sirens who lure men to their downfall. You won't even notice the moment she steals the heart right out of your body--and then it's hers for good. A wallflower never gives your heart back. 4.5 80% of this book is so precious and a treasure but the last bits admittedly are wobbly and quite unnecessary. other than that, swooning, drooling, sobbing, laughing etc etc. Lisa Kleypas' masterful writing is evident in this book. i just love how she tied up the remarks, stories of the characters, like coming full circle especially with the fox cub story. also Evie and Sebastian, my ultimate otp i can't believe you two are grandparents now. an amazing, loving, supportive one at that. i feel so old but yeah happy,grateful-old :'''))

Pandora and Gabriel are cute but not as cute as Cassandra and Tom (sorry not sorry). Pandora is an absolute delight and her forthrightness made me laugh so many times. Gabriel's character is.....lackluster, for lack of a better word. I didn't find anything about him spectacular. Rather, I was annoyed because his poorly behaved mistress troubled Pandora towards the end. Aside from that, his attitude to feminist ideals was cliche-ish.

An excerpt from the book that made swoon like crazy, “Smiling, Gabriel took her head between his hands and looked into her eyes. “Your kiss thrilled me beyond imagining,” he whispered. “Every night for the rest of my life, I’ll dream of the afternoon in the holloway, when I was waylaid by a dark-haired beauty who devastated me with the heat of a thousand troubled stars, and left my soul in cinders. Even when I’m an old man, and my brain has fallen to wrack and ruin, I’ll remember the sweet fire of your lips under mine, and I’ll say to myself, ‘Now, that was a kiss.’” Now this is why I love reading historical romances.

I was so excited for this book. Which is why I'm so sad that it was a disappointment for me. Don't get me wrong as a Lisa Kleypas book it was still really good (4 stars), but it wasn't five stars or an absolute favorite. The love interest in this book is Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent, the son of Evie and Sebastian from my absolute favorite historical romance Devil in Winter. Which is why I thought this book would be a favorite too. However, Pandora's character by nature was way too immature, and I really disliked the way Gabriel treated her as if she was a child. I do think Pandora had character growth by the end of the novel, but she just wasn't a favorite. I also thought the action plot accompanying this story was a bit predictable and not nearly as impactful as I would have wanted. Overall, I really just wasn't in love with the romance or the characters like I wanted to be. So sadly this was a disappointing read. Still love Lisa Kleypas though.

4 stars ⭐️ Oh how cute this was! I wanted to give it 5 stars so badly but unfortunately some things fell a little flat. My favorite moments were the peeks of Sebastian’s and Evie’s life together. Swoon!! I love them so much. Gabriel was a perfectly kind and sweet man, the son I would expect of the former 2, who fell in love with Pandora. He was a bit too sweet for my taste but perfectly patient for Pandora. The first 70% had me hooked! I only didn’t like the drama surrounding the end and thought it felt like filler. I also wish there was more of a look at Pandora’s relationship with Cassandra. We barely saw any conversations between the twins regarding the scandal which I felt entirely unrealistic. But it was still one of my favorites of the series and I loved it nonetheless 💕

4.5 I really enjoyed this one. I found Pandora and Gabriel to be a good match for each other. And I gotta give it props for being one of the most creative "meet-cutes" I've read in an hr. One of the things I enjoyed most was the building of, maybe not a relationship, but of a report between the two. They have actual conversations about their likes/dislikes. Yes, he's a little instalust but grows to enjoy her personality. And I loved the realization of when Pandora decided on him. The later half excitement/plot seemed a little shoe-horned. I mean interesting but out of left field. Re-read? probably. But not one of my re-reads for favorites. Continue? Yes, but I'll probably jump around to Cassandra next

I would like to state that the whimsey of Pandora's character has literally put her in my top tier favorite book heroines. She is childlike in so many ways, kind of fae in character, and I absolutely love that Gabriel wouldn't change that about her. I adore that this book shows you more about loving someone through the struggles and how to work together to make a relationship work. It's more of what happens after that HEA that so many romances cut off. I think this may be my favorite yet from The Ravenels series.

Oh, just delightful. Lady Pandora, game-maker, wallflower, dreamer, gets stuck in a fancy chaise lounge trying to retrieve a lost earring for a friend who wants to avoid scandal. Too bad Pandora is the one caught in a scandal, as the dashing man who rescues her from said chaise is accused of ruining her. Super sexy, confident, and handsome Gabriel is actually quite pleased with this turn of events, as he finds Pandora's eccentricities delightful. Asking her and her family to spend a week at his estate, Gabriel hopes to convince Pandora that marriage is on the table, despite her adamant refusal to be tied down. Pandora doesn't want any man taking away her rights, especially since she is on the cusp of launching her board game empire. Gabriel, modern way ahead of his time, is out to show Pandora that he can be a man deserving of her love. I really liked this. Gabriel is such a doll, and what a great story. Exactly what I needed right now.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. Oh my goodness, this book. I knew it would be good. I suspected it would be amazing. It's Lisa Kleypas, after all. I had ridiculously high expectations for Devil in Spring since Devil in Winter is one of my all-time favorite books. I wondered if Gabriel could live up to his father (and mother, for that matter) and the answer is a resounding YES. And, bonus? There's a good bit of Evie and Sebastian in this book and they made my heart happy every time they popped up. I love them so much. I suspected I would fall totally in love with Gabriel — and I did — but if I'm being totally honest, Pandora was probably the star of the show for me. After meeting her and reading about her in the background of the first two books, I had a feeling she might be my favorite of the sisters and so far that's exactly the case. More than that, she's one of my new favorite HR heroines. While she was quirky and awkward at times, she was also highly intelligent and driven and a woman before her time in so many instances. I love nontraditional HR heroines and with her determination to own her own business and *gasp* never marry, she fit the bill. Plus, I loved how she created her own words by mashing up two others — kisstastrophe is probably one of my favorites. She was utterly charming and it was impossible NOT to love her.  It was also impossible not to love Gabriel. He is SO his father's son, but he has a lot of his mother's kindness and compassion, too. (Not that I'm accusing Sebastian of being unkind or unsympathetic, because really he's both and amazing, but you have to look a little harder to find those qualities in him.) Gabriel, while not exactly a choir boy, isn't quite the notorious rake his father was before meeting his mother either. He had a good heart and he was determined to do the right thing and, moreover, he was all in for Pandora from nearly the very start. His love of animals and stories of him as a child melted my heart and it was easy to see he was a good man. And, oh boy, some of the sweet and sexy things he would say. *fans self* He's definitely on my best book boyfriends list. Unsurprisingly, I loved every little thing about Devil in Spring. It's going on my favorites shelf and I suspect I'll reread this one a fair few times. Not only were the characters amazing, but the writing. My goodness. I want to devour all her words. I swear, I highlighted roughly half the book. Lisa Kleypas is the freaking queen of HR and I just can't get enough of her books. FAVORITE QUOTES "I've never wanted to marry. Anyone who knows me will tell you that. When I was little, I never liked the stories about princesses waiting to be rescued. I never wished on falling stars, or pulled the petals off daisies while reciting 'he loves me, he loves me not'. At my brother's wedding, they handed out slivers of wedding cake to all the unmarried girls and said if we put it under our pillows, we would dream of our future husbands. I ate my cake instead. Every crumb. I've made plans for my life that don't involve becoming anyone's wife." "Dangerous creatures, wallflowers. Approach them with the utmost caution. They sit quietly in corners, appearing abandoned and forlorn, when in truth they're sirens who lure men to their downfall. You won't even notice the moment she steals the heart right out of your body—and then it's hers for good. A wallflower never gives your heart back."  The word "mistress" sounds like a cross between mistake and mattress. "I was compromised by a settee. You just happened to be there." "Every night for the rest of my life, I'll dream of the afternoon in the holloway, when I was waylaid by a dark-haired beauty who devastated me with the heat of a thousand troubled stars, and left my soul in cinders. Even when I'm an old man, and my brain has fallen to wrack and ruin, I'll remember the sweet fire of your lips under mine, and I'll say to myself, 'Now, that was a kiss.'" "What should I do?" "Just hold me. Keep all the pieces of me together. My God—I've never—" "I"m never going to obey you. But I'm always going to love you."
