Veil 2020 is a minimalist cyberpunk action tabletop roleplaying game that takes elements of The Veil, White Hack, and World of Dungeons to create a modern-meets-retro rules-light framework.

Veil 2020

Uncanny Echo is a tabletop roleplaying game that uses the Powered by the Apocalypse engine to play out stories of supernatural and uncanny urban fiction. There are 10 one-shot scenarios (called issues), each with a stripped down rule set that promises to get you to the table with minimal prep time. Utilizing tech such as keys from Lady Blackbird and clocks from The Sprawl and Blades in the Dark, each game is a focused experience that connects each session with the next despite every game being divergent from the last. The rule system has a focus on emergent play as players connect their story with the next one-shot, shifting focus to new characters and something else happening in the city. Each issue is a full Powered by the Apocalypse game in its own right and are all replayable. The text teaches you how to play a Powered by the Apocalypse game and has uniform practices outlined for each game, with customizations for each one; making it easy to learn the system while making each game distinct fiction.

Everyone experiences a world beyond augmented reality through their neurochip, tech implanted at birth. But by hacking these 'chips, they traverse this hybrid reality without being monitored by the system.

Retropunk

Note that this is the limited, pre-final release or ashcan edition of the game. Never Knows Best is a roleplaying game about middle school kids facing impending adulthood, growing up, and society's--sometimes nonsensical-expectations and obligations. It's designed for three-five players plus a game master (GM) who facilitates the game. This game uses absurdism, metaphors, motifs, and literalization to represent the struggles and growth these kids go through. Society's obligations and expectations manifest as outrageous forms-creatures and monsters not of this world. The kids combat these creatures by transforming into robots. Whenever a kid transforms, their robot takes on their unique strengths and traits representing how they reject society's attempts to make kids conform and obey. In this way, the internal conflict kids face when growing up becomes something real and seen. Battles are metaphors for their inner turmoil about who they are, where they fit in, and who they want to be.
