Henry Law was Dean of Gloucester from 1862 until his death in 1884. He is especially known for his work entitled "Christ is All: The Gospel in the Pentateuch", which surveys typologies of Christ in the first five books of the Old Testament. It was originally published in 1867. This is part three, dealing with the types in Leviticus.

Henry Law was born at Kelshall rectory in Hertfordshire, 1797. Law was educated at Eton College and St John's College, Cambridge, where he became fellow in 1821. Later that year he was ordained. The Gospel In Leviticus is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by Henry Law Dean of Gloucester in the eighteenth century and an influential figure in the evangelical party of the Church of England.

The aim of this volume is simple, yet sublime--lowly, yet rising above earth. Its desire is to promote and elevate and sanctify the communion of families with heaven; to give wings to piety, and warm utterance to prayer. This exercise requires watchful care--the often recurrence militates against impression. An object always present to the eyes scarcely arrests notice. May they find that this Song is a chaste prelude to the chorus of the white-robed multitude!
