James Allen "Jim" Nussle is an American businessman and retired politician who has been president and chief executive officer of the Credit Union National Association since 2014. A former member of the Republican Party, Nussle served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1991 to 2007 and was the Republican nominee for the 2006 Iowa gubernatorial election, losing to Democrat Chet Culver, before his appointment as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in 2007 by President George W. Bush, an office he retained until 2009. On January 6, 2021, Nussle announced he was no longer a member of the Republican Party following the attempted insurrection of the U.S. Capitol.
