Situated between the ‘sociology of emotions’ and ‘nostalgia studies’, it considers the reasons for which nostalgia appears to be becoming an increasingly significant and debated emotion in late-modern culture. The sociology of Erving Goffman has inspired generations of sociologists throughout the world.
