Thirty-eight of the original chapters have been expanded to cover all the shows that have opened in the ten years since the popular 2000 edition, with two new chapters added to include Broadway theatres recently refurbished and returned to life. This unique chronicle is the first work to present a detailed theatre-by-theatre roundup of players and productions that have enchanted audiences at Broadway's great playhouses from 1900 to 2010. The work is an expanded treatment of "At This Theatre," the popular feature in Playbill's Broadway theatre programs. "At This Theatre" offers playgoers instant nostalgia by listing notable hits (and some famed fiascos) that have played through the years in the theatre that they are attending. The book also pays tribute to the distinguished impresarios who built and managed these houses, and the brilliant architects and interior designers who created them. The original 1984 edition was created by Playbill senior editor Louis Botto. Botto worked with editor Robert Viagas on the 2000 update. With the third edition, Botto has passed the author torch to Viagas, who founded Playbill.com and the acclaimed Playbill Broadway Yearbook series, and who has written the updates in Botto's style.

(Playbill Broadway Yearbook). This second edition of The Playbill Broadway Yearbook has a chapter for each of the 71 Broadway shows that were running between June 2005 and May 2006, including "alumni" pages for shows held over from previous seasons. In addition, every show has a correspondent who records the special moments and relationships that develop during rehearsals and the run. Actor hangouts, most memorable ad-lib, celebrity visitors, and the record number of cell phone rings during a performance are among the information recorded. An insider Events section reports on such annual milestones as The Tony Awards, Gypsy of the Year, Broadway Bares, and the annual Broadway softball championship in Central Park Once again, in addition to all the headshots of all the actors who appeared in Playbill , the book includes photos of producers, writers, designers, stage managers, stagehands and musicians. The goal is to include as many of the faces who worked on Broadway as possible. As a special treat, the Yearbook includes photos of opening night curtain calls from many shows. This is a book no Broadway buff will want to be without.

Many people who work on Broadway keep scrapbooks of their experiences, with photos, signed posters, ticket stubs, and of course Playbills. Playbill Books has expanded this idea into an annual project that is becoming a Broadway institution: The Playbill Broadway Yearbook. Taking the form of a school yearbook, the third edition is packed with photos and memorabilia from the 2006-2007 Broadway season. The new edition includes chapters on all 67 Broadway shows that ran during the season - new shows like Curtains and Spring Awakening as well as long-running ones like Wicked. In addition to headshots of all the actors who appeared in Playbill, the book has photos of producers, writers, designers, stage managers, stagehands, musicians - even ushers.
