Dans le mouvement qui conduit la création artistique à dialoguer avec la recherche scientifique et à recourir aux technologies de l'information et de la cognition, une nouvelle problématique s'est subrepticement dégagée : comment donner un corps aux structures formelles des œuvres ? Comment associer un monde sensible à l'abstraction des modèles ? Question qui se décline de manière surprenante. Par exemple : que peut-il advenir des différentiations sensorielles et des hiérarchies qu'elles induisent dans le champ artistique ? La domination de l'œil et de l'oreille sur le toucher, le goût et l'odorat se maintiendra-t-elle dans les œuvres du futur ou sera-t-elle remise en cause par la maîtrise possible de ces champs sensoriels ? Le contrôle et la simulation des mécanismes perceptifs sont-ils susceptibles d'ouvrir la voie à des reconfigurations inédites du monde sensible ? Comment l'activité artistique, voire la notion même d'œuvre d'art, pourraient-elles en être bouleversées ?
