Tommy George Thompson is an American Republican politician and most recently served as interim president of the University of Wisconsin System. He previously served as the 42nd Governor of Wisconsin from 1987 to 2001 and was the 19th United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, in the cabinet of U.S. President George W. Bush.
