Therefore this master thesis deals with riskmanagement and its implementation using the example of the international company OMV AG. In this context, riskmanagement describes the handling of risks during capital projects and is mainly used to analyse risks and determine adequate measures with the target of maximum amount of safety. Therefore the existing riskmanagement system of OMV AG will be analysed and compared with current standards. Possible deficits are analysed and improvement suggestions are given. Additionally, a risk- and chance assessment tool for future capital projects was created. This tool is intended to support the project members during the whole project lifecycle.
