Kwan Ann Tan@kwananntan
I read these books when I was much younger, and I doubt that I will ever forget them. ASOUE is not your run of the mill, adventure/hero story for middle-schoolers, but it's so much more. Chockful of literary allusions, clever wordplay and complex morality issues, I feel like I appreciate it much more than when I was younger-- and in consequence, am affected much more strongly. The web of secrets and confusion that Daniel Handler has drawn us into holds tight, but the spell is forever broken, and there is no way to close your opened eyes.
