Can't highly recommend this enough. I have read - re-read and make notes everytime.

This book is heavily influential. It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. Let’s try to summarize the way this book is written. Amy Morin, (who is a Psychotherapist by the way) in each chapter she introduces a problem/ a Behavior that most people adopt or create. She describes how this behavior affects our mentality, why we adopt it and why it’s not helpful for us. She gives an example, might be a story or someone’s experience and then she discusses the solutions available and what’s helpful to control this behavior or to stop it. The book is very helpful and I really recommend it. She also mentions that even people with (mood disorders/bad life experiences/and even with genetics that affects them) those three reasons might be affecting them but won’t stop them from maintaining mental strength This is a life changing experience for me to be honest and I’m so grateful that I was able to finish this with a different perspective.Reading this book won’t make you mentally strong it’s your choice to use what’s suitable and helpful for you from the many tips and techniques that are in this book.

I will never delight in reading self-help books and think they are mostly lame and boring. But I will read them topically when I need them, and I’ve been needing this one lately! Helped me as I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and feeling “in a funk.” It didn’t magically fix my funk, but it was uplifting and empowering to read and a good reminder that so much of our life satisfaction level depends on the state and set of our own minds.
