A Wrinkle in Time: The Graphic Novel
Reviews

I love the artwork/art style very much. However, i just did a lot like the story itself. I have not read A Wrinkle in Time before and I am not sure how close this is l but I found the characters very sporadic with their emotions and i found it hard to root for any of them.

Every time I read A Wrinkle in Time, I am reminded just why I love Madeleine L'Engle: her novels are so complex and rich, without ever being too "heady". It is because her stories are anchored in love, which is the theme of this wonderful story after-all. And, I have to say that Hope Larson, the cartoonist behind Chiggers, Grey Horses, and Mercury, does a wonderful job adapting Madeleine L'Engle's classic novel into the graphic novel format. This was my second reading of Larson's adaptation and It is obvious that Larson has great affection for the tale of time and space travel, outsiders, and fascism, and she has created a touching graphic novel from it. Larson's vividly imagined interpretations of tessering (which I loved) and favorite characters, like the Happy Medium and Aunt Beast are quite wonderful. Perfect for delighting old fans and winning over new ones, this graphic novel adaptation is an absolute must-read about the triumph of love over evil on a cosmic scale. L'Engle said in her Newberry Medal Acceptance Speech that "a book can be a star, explosive material, capable of staring up fresh life endlessly, a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe." How true this is of A Wrinkle in Time.

I decided to read the graphic novel first so I can have motivation to read the actual book... but it backfired hardcore. The characters are annoying and lack development, the illustration was confusing, and the plot was so boring. The ending was very anti-climactic too. I'm gonna watch the movie just to see if it's better than the books.

I enjoyed this graphic novel immensely. It brings the story to life in a new way while still keeping the original story/novel intact. If you’re a fan of the novel, I suggest picking this version up!

Hope Larson's illustrations were wonderful but the adaptation did not live up to my expectations. Admittedly, "A Wrinkle in Time" is one of my all time favorite books. I've lost count how many times I've reread it. There were parts of the story, such as the love of Aunt Beast and the horror of IT, that were just lost in the translation. I did enjoy the read but I recommend the original over the graphic novel.

might be the nostalgia but overall I enjoyed this graphic novel, I loved the book as a child and wanted a refresher before the upcoming movie. The Visual aspect of this book was gorgeous but adult me kinda wanted to smack Meg a few times.

Still the same great story, now with pictures!
