This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance Aced is the final conclusion to Colton and Rylee's beautiful tale....a story of struggles and triumphs....of challenges both physical and mental and learning to overcome them in the midst of your happy ever after. This was such a heartbreaking and emotional book for me. Not what I expected for the finale to be honest but I was riveted in this story. I wouldn't say that this book is my favorite but there were many aspects of the story that I really enjoyed even if the drama could be a bit too much at times, although at the end we understand it more. In this story, Colton and Rylee have been married for six years and are happy as larks in the beginning of the story. Rylee has miraculously found out that she is pregnant after 6 long years of trying and never thinking that they would be lucky enough to have a baby of their own. Rylee is still involved with the boys home, the boys are older of course. But as Rylee enters into her last trimester, they are both thrown a curve ball, one that will the beginning of many challenges that they will face. A video is released of them having sex on Colton's car, and it shows Rylee in all of her "glory". They don't have a clue who is behind it at first. The press is after them like a dog after a bone. They have no peace at all. Rylee is struggling with high blood pressure which is never a good sign especially when you are pregnant. The board of directors from the boys home and foundation want her out of the picture temporarily until everything blows over, the one boy she has helped the most Zander, might be put into foster care by his drug ridden uncle. Its just one thing after another for this pair and boy they are put in the ringer. And to top it all off, they will be having a baby really soon. We also see a form of a mental condition that you don't realize what it is at first or even until the end. Rylee really struggles emotionally and mentally, and unlike the previous books, Colton is the one that has to take the drivers seat when it comes to being the stable one. I can see that when he looks at me, beautiful is what he sees, and I’ll take it, because when a man sees you at what you feel is your worst and thinks you’re at your best, don’t question it. I really adored Colton in this book though, even though he has his own issues he has to work through, he is the more steady character in the book.  My heart went out to this couple although I will say that Rylee drove me bat crazy in this book. Her character never bothered me in this book, but quite honestly I didn't like how she treated Colton. Its like she hasn't learned from six years of marriage. She tends to blame Colton or treat him like she does for circumstances that are obviously out of his control but Colton just takes what she lashes out at him for. So I was grinding my teeth a lot with her character and what kept me really into this book was the hero. He was so patient, loving and understand of Rylee. And in the end when he learns that she is struggling with a mental condition, he is so sweet and empathetic. "What we have between us," he says, voice thick with emotion as he pauses to find the words, "is a beautiful thing." "A beautiful thing is never perfect," I murmur. "You're right. We're far from perfect. We're perfectly imperfect." I love how he treats her in this book and the way he is with the boys. I will say that the situation with Zander was really heart wrenching. And it stirred up some old feelings I have of the "foster care" system. Quite frankly, in the U.S. its horrible what some children go through in the foster homes they are put in. In this book we see how terrified Zander is of his uncle and we see that some case workers probably don't care, they just see these kids as numbers.  I would love it if these real life case workers who do this in real life would read this book, because it would open their eyes. (I do have a friend that works in the system and she works her butt off for these kids, so I do realize there are some great workers that make a difference) but I did like that this author showed that there is still a severe problem. (rant over) What I have adored about this series is that this author takes these characters that are real as life, and mix in some realistic circumstances that just pull you into the story and engage you on a level that makes you so invested in these books. Even if it makes you want to pull your hair out. But that is also what makes these endings so much sweeter where we see a couple such as Colton and Rylee, struggle and "fall down" but they also rise up and work to resolve their problems and become better even if its painful to see this process happen.
