The Island
Reviews

Ik vond het een leuk verhaal- het boek is geclassificieerd als spannend en dat was hij ook dus mij hoor je niet klagen. Ik vond het tof dat de auteur de Aboriginals vermeldde. It didn't give me the five star feeling, but otherwise, er valt niets te bekritiseren. Vandaar dus die 4,5 star rating.

The book started off a little slow but then soon picked up and was page turning and thrilling .
Loved the story between Heather and the two children and the characters made this book a thrilling read .

Loooooved this book. Heather is a frickin boss

Okay so this book was Page turning to the point I binged it in a day and a bit. It got into it super quick and was faced paced with plenty of action tjat honestly kept me entertained the whole way through.
I saw a lot.of reviews saying was unrealsitc but I'm telling you now when you watch a lot.of crimes shows there are people there this sick.
Was.it.over the top?, yes but in the best way it was never boring and there were a lot of moments that were super tense.
There was a moment in the book that was supposed to be a twist I guessed it I think a chapter in the book gave it away. Either way it didn't ruin my experience I really loved this book. I rooted for Hannah l the way through

I loved this book, it was a really fun thriller. Every moment had some action and I was truly rooting for the FMC.

*Many thanks to Little Brown and Company for the complimentary copy for my honest review!* Y’all, I don’t even know where to start with this review. My jaw is still on the floor after reading the last page. I have not read The Chain or any other books by this author but wow do I want to read every single one of them now. This story follows Heather who after moving from a small town marries Tom, a widowed doctor with two children. Heather and the children decide to join him on a working trip to Australia and make it a family vacation. Heather doesn’t have the best relationship with her new stepchildren but is trying her hardest even when they want nothing to do with her. When an opportunity to explore a remote island that is off-limits to outsiders arises, the kids are desperate to go so Heather and Tom agree. As soon as their on the island they realize they’ve made a mistake, the island is ran by a very tight knit family and there’s a reason outsiders aren’t allowed in. Then a deadly accident occurs that will change everyone’s lives and leave the family fighting for their lives. I was not expecting to get sucked into this book so fast but it immediately starts off with a bang and just doesn’t stop. There were no slow spots in this book to be found and every second was action-packed and had me holding my breath. I can’t remember the last time a thriller gripped me so tightly and had me flying through the pages. If you’re looking for a book with endless twists and with a cat and mouse type feel, definitely pick this one up, you will not be disappointed. It’s dark, raw, gritty, gory, but such a fantastic read.
