𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
This is the first-ever Agatha Christie book I have ever read and to be honest, saying that I am disappointed is an understatement. It was a very short and predictable book and at times, quite annoying too. There are a few things I liked nevertheless: the poetic nature of Sergeant Cadwallader, Jan’s character which made me very emotional (triggering) and of course, Laura caring for Jan so much! I feel very sad for Jan because he didn’t deserve what happened to him at all (𝘺𝘦𝘴, 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥 19-𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘺). The ending plot was very good even though it was predictable but the writing was not up to the mark.

1. Laura, for God's sake, if someone suddenly walks in on you murdering your husband and offers to cover up for you even when you surrender, 𝘳𝘶𝘯 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬. She is so stupid: "𝙿𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔, 𝙼𝚒𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚎𝚕! 𝙸 𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚘𝚘!" 𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦, 𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦.
2. Everything happens in a single room which made me feel claustrophobic and repetitive.
3. The actual murder should have been explained in detail when the actual culprit was found. Also, the story was finished off in a rush not leaving behind anything for the reader to imagine either.

4. And of course, none of the characters noticed why Michael was being so fishy. 𝘖𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘺-𝘵𝘸𝘰-𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭.
5. And why did Michael aka McGregor actually help Laura in the first place? He dug his own grave but she being the stupid girl she is, didn’t even question it.

I did spoiler myself which was really unsettling
But other than that it's really exiting and breath taking till the last sentence
I would love to see it as a play as Agatha Christie intended it to be
I think it would be terrific
