Edinburgh in the Shadows

Edinburgh in the Shadows Stories from the Dark Side of the City

Edinburgh in the Shadows - stories the tourist guides never reveal... Want to know the Edinburgh the tourist guides won't tell you about? Beattie and Scratchmann tell it like it really is in this fact-packed book from their popular spoken word show about the city's sinister side with stories, tales and poems of drugs and murder, witchcraft and fetishes, executions and hauntings, cover ups and botch jobs that reveal the truth behind Edinburgh's lesser-known miscreants, unfortunates and flawed geniuses. 'thoroughly dark and entertaining' 'kept the audience amused, aghast and attentive' 'darkly fascinating historical laughs and thrills' 'grimly amusing' First performed in June 2015, Edinburgh in the Shadows has entertained and amused audiences at the Celtic Mystery Festival, the Grassmarket Festival, the Merchant City Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It's also sold out at the National Library of Scotland, and toured libraries, cafes, pubs and clubs throughout Edinburgh. Back on the road for 2016, the show will be performed at the Cowgatehead venue during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with a warm up tour of Edinburgh's nest reading establishments.
