Sympathy and Envy

Who may be held ultimately responsible for the two malign paradoxes defining the present age; 1.) the conviction of the Germans notwithstanding that the evidence adduced against them did not meet the burden of proof; and 2.) the acquittal of O.J. Simpson notwithstanding that the evidence adduced against him did meet the burden of proof? Who indeed? Who if not the liberal?
