All the Way A Romancing Manhattan Novel
Reviews

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance This review may contain spoilers, so fair warning, upon reading the review. All The Way is the first book In the “Romancing Manhatten” and I was able to read this through the narration as I got a audio copy through my local library. I was really intrigued by this one here, and seeing the way that this story sets off was quite a unique set up and I always get a kick out of reading a Kristen Proby Novel. This one definitely had the typical Kristen Proby vibe to the story and yes it does contain the third act conflict. I was interested to see how this story would play out in the end though. there is quite a bit of chemistry that we get introduced into and I enjoyed seeing the background of the characters and that they are more of a mature age. Their interactions that they have with each other really built into the chemistry quite well and we see that they have a bond to each other that they build. I did get a hoot of entertainment as their communication skills aren’t always the best fo talent. The hero especially has a steamroll of a personality and likes to take care of people, you can tell that its his love language. They both are wealthy, so he likes to do things for the heroine without consulting her and we are talking BIG things that she should be consulted with and you definitely can tell that his heart is in the right place, he just doesn’t always know when to back down from it. For the most part, I really admire how patient the heroine is with the hero. She has quite a bit on her plate, including a self absorbed drug addicted brother and has no other family. So she stands on her own in a very strong independent way and I admired her for that. I really respected the way in which she stands for herself and setting heathy boundaries and it showcased well the normalization of a romantic relationship in this novel which I greatly appreciated. The story is well endearing and you get sucked into it very quickly. I also really admired the way in which the story was emphasized on and even though the third act was predictable (anyone that has read a Kristen Proby) knows this from experience, I nonetheless had a fabulous time with this book and eager to read books 2 and 3. If you are a fan of this author, or just an endearing, captures your feels type of contemporary, than I can’t recommend “All The Way” enough to you.

Instant Love London and Finn meet in an unusual way and they make a go of their relationship. This book, All the Way, is that relationship. There are ups and downs an plot devices but truly not a wow read ... a comfortable read. Their coupling is hella fast but hey, it’s romantic fiction, what can you do? Didn’t care for that dropped ending but I do look forward to reading the remaining books in the series.

Of course, I also adore Kristen Proby's books, so I was interested in seeing what she'd give us next. If I'm honest, it didn't grab me quite the way some of her books have in the past, but I still enjoyed it. I went back and forth on my rating for this book a few times. It seemed like more than a 3 star book, but not quite a 4 star book. (Darn you, half stars!) But after reflecting for a few days, I decided to bump it up to 4 stars. All the Way was a quick and steamy read. I liked both Finn and London and enjoyed following their story, as unconventionally as it started off. There was a great push and pull between them, with him wanting to help/fix everything and her determined to do it for herself. They had tons of chemistry and I liked how things progressed between them. I especially appreciated that London wasn't a doormat when Finn had his more overbearing moments. He was a good and swoony guy overall, but he did frustrate me sometimes. I enjoyed the romance and some of the familial aspects of this book. Finn's niece Gabby was a great addition to the story and, through her, we saw another side of Finn. Plus, she and London struck up a bit of a friendship I think both of them needed. The entire situation with London and her brother was baffling to me. I mean, obviously they didn't have a relationship. But why initially? I get that he was an addict, but I feel like there was some backstory missing. His presence in the story felt merely like a plot point until nearly the very end when the truth was revealed. He wasn't a good person, but I wish I knew more about how they got to the point they were at. All that said, I did enjoy this sexy little read. The Martha's Vineyard setting was painted so brilliantly I felt like I was right there with them. I enjoyed the surprises and suspense wrapped up in the romance. The characters were interesting and mostly likable and relatively easy to root for. I think All the Way kicked off the Romancing Manhattan in a strong way. I'm looking forward to seeing where the series goes next. I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. FAVORITE QUOTES "You can't control the storm, London. It's going to happen whether you're scared, or not. But you can calm yourself in it. That's the trick." "I love you, more than I ever thought it was possible to love another person. It seems that you came crashing into my life in one big, magical storm, and I can't remember what it was like before you."
