           Despite her popularity at her old school, Ever became an outcast because she believed she can't be accepted because of her psychic gift. She also perceives someone's personality through their colors. So instead of aligning herself with the shallow, mean and popular crowd, she aligns herself with the shallow and mean loneers. We also introduced a mysterious and handsome boy, who captures the entire school's attention (literally) but falls in love with the protagonist right away.

There is no logic to the plot. 

It's difficult to relate to the characters. They're unreliable, stupid, and act out of character whenever the situation demands. This story is bland, unoriginal, and uninspiring because of the shallow relationships; the juvenile narration; and the cluttered mythology.

My recommendation is to stay away from it.

I’ve read the whole series, and I personally loved it. This book is SO good. I thought the idea behind it was really unique, and interesting. It’s not for everyone, but I definitely recommend you give this book a try.

Hello, I reread this and I can't believe this series used to be one of my all time favorites. 
I just . . . it's not good but like it's nostolgic so I can't rate it any lower, and it's such classic YA that I honestly can't judge it too hard.

Okay, so .. I'm going to start by saying that this book was really bad. I admit , it could've been way worse but still, I have the right to complain because it was bad.
This book was a major disappointment for me. I mean .. Seriously, everyone kept telling me how much they loved it and how I needed to read it right away . I had heard great things about it before and I expected it to be good .. Just imagine how super excited I was when I got my hands on it. I just couldn't wait to start reading it because I was sure that I'll have a bunch of new charachters to fall in love with. So I read it and .. like I said .. I was really disappointed. I expected so much more from this book. 
From the very first page I realized that Ever and I weren't going to be friends after all. I don't know but there was something very annoying about her. I kept trying to like her and I managed to change my opinion throughout the next pages.She was sort of cool sometimes, with her headphones and her hoodie and I could only imagine what she was going through. I mean, her family had died and then she started seeing ghosts or whatever. I kinda felt bad for her, poor girl. I was actually starting to like her but then Damen showed up .. Ugh. I never hated a charachter so much. don't even ask why. After this guy showed up, Ever started acting like a brat. And Jesus.She started getting all shallow and annoying and I just couldn't stand her anymore. All I wanted to do was to throw the darn book away and never have to see it again. But I decided to keep reading it. I was actually hoping it will get better but it just got worse, believe me. There are loads of things I would like to say about this book but I don't want to waste my time. It's not worth it. 
The plot was ok but it could've been so much better. I was kind of bored, honestly. But it was ok. That's why I gave this book two stars.

Okay so, there are a lot of negative reviews for this book that show up first in the review section so, I feel the need to say my reviews are based more off of how much I enjoy the story vs. the actual quality of the writing. I feel like it doesn't matter how well the story is written if you hate it.

Seriously, I sat down to read this for about an hour while I was babysitting my niece and instead read the entire thing in one sitting, staying up waaaaay later than I usually do. It was a definite "one more chapter" type of story. I wanted to know what was going on and how everything worked out. I needed answers.

I dislike the names . . . Ever, Honor, etc. They made me crazy. I mean I understand strange names are more common now (and I'm much more willing to accept them in a full on fantasy story), but still. Kill me now.

I do like the story and I'm interested to see what else is going to happen in the following books. I'm sure there's going to be more of the immortals to come and I'm interested to see how they tie in. I'm also excited to see if Ever continues to use her 'gift' or not.

Ugh was this bad. I don't know where I can possibly start with explaining all my issues with Evermore. It was so Twilightesque, just worse. Cliché in every way possible. Flat characters I didn't care for whatsoever, a predictable plot, an awful writing style ( it was as if the author was trying way too hard to be cool), holes in the world building, a very cheesy romance, totally random decisions the characters made plus everyone being so amazingly shallow it blew my mind. I'm done with this series (it's six books long, what the fuck?) and the author in general.
Hadn't this been for the pop sugar reading challenge this book would have been a DNF.

I just finished this book and I'm sitting here wondering how I've never ventured into Alyson Noel's fantasy novels. I've read all of her other books except this series which started back in 2009 and I feel like I really missed out.

I know lots of people disliked this book but I really did like it. Maybe it's because I've been a die hard fan of the author forever but I read this in about 12 hours and honestly couldn't put it down. 

This book is about Ever who after losing her parents and little sister in a tragic car accident wakes up in the hospital and realizes she can now see everyones auras surrounding them and can also somehow still communicate with her little sister Riley, even though she's dead. She gets moved from Oregon to California to live with her aunt and starts a new school where instead of being in the popular crowd like in her last school, she befriends two of the "outsiders", a gay guy named Miles and a self-proclaimed goth named Hazel. Having perfected her ways of tuning people's thoughts out, Ever's only hopes are to get through school and hope that no one finds out about her psychic abilities. Then the new gorgeous guy Damen starts school and she realizes there's something different about him, he has no aura and seems to have certain abilities like she does. 

I loved all of the characters of this book and how detailed the author was when she was explaining certain scenes and things happening in the book, you almost felt like you were there seeing it with your own eyes and not just reading it. Ever's character was obviously my favorite as I loved her personality and how she dealt with her psychic abilities. Her and Damen's relationship was another thing I loved and the ending made me so excited to dive into the rest of the series.

I could have been so happy with this book...

I mean the synopsis makes it sounds so good. Alyson Noel should just come up with book ideas and leave other authors to execute them. Honestly. I don't know where she was trying to go with any of the characters. Damen had no personality other than his described "gorgeous, sexy, smoking" looks with which we get no articulation on either. Most of the characters were unbearably annoying (ex Haven) and had no motives to back up their actions. Drina made no sense either. I just didn't really care about any of the characters, even Ever, who only ever COMPLAINS about her ability to READ MINDS. wtf... no one wants to read about a protagonist that wastes an entire SUPERPOWER. It's one of those books that makes you think it's your fault you don't like it at first, until you eventually realize it's just bad. 

Like I said, the premise could've been great, but the writing style and characters quickly send the book to hell. If you picked up this book because it sounded good, I don't blame out, but I would definitely suggest putting it back down.
