Riding the Storm
When Rosemary left the shattered remains of a violent, turbulent relationship, she faced an uncertain journey into the unknown. Scarred by her past and scared of her future, with a small daughter to raise and little to live on, she rides head-on into a transforming change that will lead to a new layer of recovery and renewal. She knew when she fled that it wouldn't be easy, but she never dreamed she would find what she did. Riding the Storm provides a compelling look into the psychological dynamics of the power and control-type of relationship. It's protagonists, both male and female, battle the demons and temptations that plague our world today, as well as their own innerweaknesses and insecurities in a society where support, guidance and wisdom are often in short supply. The emotionally charged issues in this story-domestic abuse and violence, chemical abuse and other addictions, homelessness, family turmoil, sexuality, etc., are universal. The characters that live through them, alone and together, will have us all looking back into our own mirrors, realizing that on some level we are all riding the storm-and that we have been looking at the world through lenses of fear, anger and powerlessness, and don't really know how to stop. Now is the time to open the floodgates into healing. About the Author Having been trained in both traditional and non-traditional therapies, Amanda wrote Riding the Storm in hopes of shedding some light on a complicated subject, offering some thoughtful and meaningful solutions and not just the problems presented in so many stories today. After being encouraged by family and friends, Amanda set out to tell the story of 'every-woman' and therefore 'every-man' as well- and so Riding the Storm was born. Amanda lives with her family in the upper Midwest and is busy working on her next two books.
