I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and options are my own. Holy moly. Talk about soul sucking. I LOVED THIS BOOK. I don't know what it is about Daphne Morelli & Emerson LeBlanc, but these two truly captivated me. Book two starts off right where Dark Reign left off. I loved how deep we dove in learning more about Emerson and Daphne. I honestly think that Daphne and Emerson are going to be added to my list of all time favorite main characters. There’s just something about the dynamic between the two that is unforgettable. This book was an explosion of emotions and extremely intense. And of course they got very, very steamy. This book really kept me on the edge of my seat and I did not wanna put it down. I cannot wait for the final book in the series. I need it now. I’m really excited to see how things will unfold in the final book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think I’m still overheated from this one. I mean truly. I reallly loved the first book- this second one fell flat for me. Is the spice there? Absolutely. The chemistry between these two characters is scorching. It made this book for me alongside the growing emotional connection. The feelings between Emerson and Daphne are visceral. Emerson’s mind is fascinating and calculated while Daphne’s is frantic and breaking. As much as I love being in their heads the internal monologues became repetitive, which unfortunately made it feel daunting. Am I still invested in this trilogy? 100%. Emerson and Daphne’s bond is transfixing but I needed a faster pace. That aside I’m still thirsting for more.
