When Seagulls Fly Inland
In August of 1933 the seagulls understood more about the impending danger from the storm coming across the Atlantic than the people naively enjoying the beach resorts of the Virginia coast. With mountainous waves, a storm of hurricane proportion indiscriminately ripped apart buildings and lives and left a record to measure every storm that has since come to the peninsula. None expected a storm like this one. They awoke to a new reality.
