It’s a nearly unbelievable story and one of the most shocking, disappointing examples of misplaced government priorities ever.

This book is about the 2014-2016 water crisis in Flint, Michigan, and it really opened my eyes to so much and broke my heart in many different ways. 
And, of course, it’s a harrowing yet necessary reminder that, as a scientist, I can potentially hold a lot of power, and I have to steward that in a way that serves the best interest of the community above myself. (Or, in the words of Peter Parker’s grandpa, “with great power comes great responsibility”).

It’s hard to rate nonfiction books, but if you want to learn more about this topic, I would definitely recommend this book! (The audiobook narrator is the same as for Magic for Liars by Sarah Gailey which I loved from last year, so that was a fun little addition 😊).
