Sugar and Spite

Sugar and Spite A Play in One Act for Girls

Babs, the new member of the high school class, looms up as keen competition for Tessa--the great Tessa who has always been first in everything. When it looks as though Babs would get the lead in the class play and then shows up with a bracelet which is a duplicate of one Tessa has just bought, Tessa's anger soars to fever heat. Just about this time some money is discovered missing from the class candy fund, and there is much conjecturing as to who the guilty one might be. When Tessa makes a remark (which she really doesn't mean) it is quickly picked up by Marge, the class gossip, and passed on from one to the other, each time gaining proportions. But the gossip, instead of hurting Babs, boomerangs back to Tessa but by this time we find her a much more understanding young lady.
