The deal was simple… Pretend to be in a relationship without falling for each other. Only I’m not sure I can hold my end of the bargain.

I’m the sensible one out of my brothers. The reliable one. The one who doesn’t make hasty decisions. Or at least that was me until Ruby Murray turned up in my small town with her long legs and red lips, and a secret she needed me to help keep.

It should be straightforward – I pretend to be her boyfriend, and she shows my ex-girlfriend I’ve moved on. But this fake relationship feels too real for both of us.

She’s sure we’re just friends – but the benefits suggest it’s a whole lot more.

I’m sure that when she leaves town, she’ll be taking part of me with her.

Ruby thinks we can carry on pretending. She says that this is just a favour to help us both out.

I say a secret wedding proves otherwise. I just need to show her that she can trust me with more than a secret – that I can keep her heart safe as well.

Then hopefully, she’ll stay.

Lovers Heights

My favourite Welsh island inhabitants are back!

Finn runs the local distillery after having success in Manchester with his brewery.  Ruby is the sister of Thane, lighthouse keeper and MMC of book 2.  She's moved to Puffin Bay to take up a secondment at the local Marine Biology Department at the University.  They certainly have an attraction to each other but will they get the HEA they deserve or will secrets on both sides tear them apart?

What I love about this series is that even though Finn and Ruby are the main focus of the story, the previous couples still get to grow and add to their own stories too! The dual POV means we get to see what's going through each MC's little grey cells and their emotions.  This gives you a little bit of reasoning as to why they do the stupid/reckless/weird stuff they do, LOL

Ruby is a mix of confident academic, anxious single woman and PITA little sister.  Finn is the typical big brother, always trying to fix things. He's also tall, hot and a dirty talker! Together they are a pretty potent mix, they see the attraction, they accept it and move on.  They just don't know how to express it when they realise they want more than just their "fake" relationship.

The entire island is like one extended, dysfunctional but ultimately loving family.  I will not lie - things happen in this book you will not like.  There will be anger and tears for not only our MMC's but also adjacent characters.

I am on tenterhooks now waiting for book 4!
