Appealed

Emma Chase2016
The New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled books returns with the third standalone romance in the Legal Briefs series, a collection of sexy novels about first crushes, second chances, and the final verdict of the heart. When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate—and prized—parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Louboutins. When Kennedy looks at Brent, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue–worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school in order to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell for her. But she’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore—she’s a Washington, DC, prosecutor with a long winning streak. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case, and Kennedy thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own. But things aren’t exactly working out the way she planned. Brent has his sights set on Kennedy, and every fiery exchange only makes him want her more—and makes her wonder if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. In the end, they may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance After reading the first book of Legal Briefs, I was super eager to pick this one up!!! I had such a fun time with this one. What was most enjoyable was the bantering that these two engaged in. Brent Mason and Kennedy Randolph once liked each other and more, but misunderstandings of the past drove them apart. Now they are facing opponets in a courtroom. But as they face off, the secrets of the past unravel and they learn the truth and learn to open up to each other and find love that was always beneath the surface. What an incredible romance that this one turned out to be. I liked it way more than book one. Even though there is some fun bantering with a bit of angst, it didn't have an "angst" feeling at all, and it didn't last very long. I liked seeing these two become honest with each other. It was simply delightful to see Brent court Kennedy, and the sweet and romantic things he does for her. We have quite a few heated smexy times too---and boy it gets hot enough to fog up the windows for sure. A heartwarming and sexy romance that you won't want to put down!!! Link to Blog: http://laceysloveofliterature.blogspo... Emma Chase is fast becoming one of my favourite Author's and her Legal Brief Series is why. I fell in love right at the start of this series, and I fell harder in love after being introduced to each hero: The Cowboy, The Knight and The Prince. Brent Mason totally stole my heart in this book - this Prince was simply amazing. I totally admired this smart-ass. I loved how life didn't get him down. He approached life with a zest which was inspiring, especially due to what happened to him. Speaking of his accident, I would have liked a bit more background knowledge on that. Just to find out exactly what happened. I loved Kennedy. I loved her take-charge, no-prisoner's attitude. This woman was a BAMF! Seriously, she was. She was kick-ass. I loved her. Kennedy was somebody I could admire. I loved how she didn't treat Brent differently because of his accident. I loved how strong-willed and stubborn she was. I even love her name. It's elegant, classy but also powerful and distinct. (I might have to steal this name for a future child - after Harper and Evelyn ;) ). Please say that with that special Epilogue we get a new series featuring the children? I would love a best-friends to romance novel with Robert and Vivian. That would be awesome right? This book only took me a few hours to read and I was sad to not only finish this book, but what I'm assuming is the last in this series. (Queue tears and weeping!) P.S. Jake Becker's my fave - this shiny knight stole my heart with his family ways and has yet to return it. Emma Chase could I steal him from Chelsea? Please? It would be much appreciated.

OMG, I totally love reading Appealed by Emma Chase that I had to re-read it again since it is a cute yet funny romance read! Appealed is the third in The Legal Brief series. Each of the close lawyer friend get their story that Brent get his in Appealed. Appealed begins with Brent getting reacquainted with his childhood friend, Kennedy. But things can get repair if efforts are put into action. Brent is sexy lawyer that he always win his case no matter what and in his life too. However, his personal life is not so great since his mother is hell bent on interfere in his romance life because she wants him to be happy and marry. However, it may happen for Brent when he see Kennedy again. But Kennedy does not like Brent at all since she still despise him from what he did when they were kids. Kennedy is a fantastic lawyer that she is considered as one of the top prosecutor. She is always in control throughout her career and life that things get shaken up when she meets Brent again. Their reacquainted may not been smooth between them in the beginning but things change when Brent is hell on bent in changing his ways and past. Their relationship is totally hot between them that it makes the read so much hotter. But their romance will take some time to blossom into the real deal between them but they are totally meant to be. Appealed is a fantastic romance read that everyone need to read it! Appealed also has familiar faces again that the reader will enjoy the cute yet funny banter. Five Stars!

Kennedy was the shy wall-flower foil to Brent's cocky, self-assured self, but now some many years later, she is back in his life with a new hairstyle, colored-contact lenses, and representing the opposite side of a high-stakes legal case. Fairly typical plot, but a fun read. The entire book is from Brent's POV, which isn't normally the case, and I found it really refreshing that Brent has a prosthetic leg but it is hardly made an issue besides some brief mentions of how he keeps it on or takes it off while having sexy times. Other than that, I kind of found him to be an ass, but I overall I was invested enough to finish.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. I should've written this review weeks ago. I just couldn't bring myself to say goodbye to this series and these characters quite yet. In fact, when I picked up my iPad and started looking at my highlights to find my favorite quotes, I ended up rereading the book from cover to cover again. I couldn't stop once I so much as glanced at any of the words. Much like its predecessor Sustained, this book was delightful. It was emotional, sexy and sweet - a wonderful second chance romance. I adored Brent and Kennedy. I was a Brent fan from seeing him in the background earlier in the series, but I couldn't wait to see him in the spotlight. Moreover, I couldn't wait to meet the lady that made him realize there was more to life than a hookup. (Or series of hookups.) I'm a sucker for a second chance romance and this is one of my favorites I've ever read. Brent might've gotten around in the past, but he was absolutely all in when Kennedy came back into his life. No other woman could even begin to hold a candle to her. Kennedy was a fabulous leading lady. She was tough without being hard and didn't take crap from anyone. She'd done enough of that in the past when she was bullied because of her friendship with Brent. And, let me tell you, some of those scenes were so freaking hard to read. I hate that she went through what she did and I was angry at Brent for not stopping it... even if he didn't know the extent of what she was dealing with. I have no doubt he would've tried his best to put a stop to it if he had been aware. He was a dumb kid in a lot of ways back then, but he still had a good heart underneath and Kennedy had been special to him. Brent and Kennedy gave me major butterflies. They were just too perfect together. Things might've been a bit tense between them when they were first reunited, but it didn't take long for that to melt away and for them to pick up where they left off. Sure, there were some issues that needed addressed but all in all, this one was pretty low on drama. It was big on sexy and swoony, however. Brent had a dirty mouth and I loved it. Kennedy gave as good as she got in and out of the bedroom, so it made for a fun match. Plus there's just something special about childhood friends being reunited and realizing they're anything but just friends. I laughed and cried with this book. There were some fantastic scenes featuring Stanton, Sofia, Jake, Chelsea and their family. I loved how Kennedy fit in the picture with them, despite being on the other side of the courtroom. I am so sad that this series has come to a close, but I have to give a shout out to Emma for an AMAZING (second) epilogue. (Ok, the first one was pretty amazing, too.) But the second one? It was everything. I get a little teary eyed even thinking about it. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. FAVORITE QUOTES: This beautiful, sweet, strong girl in my arms. She got to me forever ago – under my skin, into my heart – and she's been there, waiting, ever since. And now she's here – in my bed – her skin flushed with excitement, her fingers gripping my shoulders, her teeth nibbling at my lips in a way that makes me almost lose my fucking mind. I want to figure her out, to learn every part of her – the soft curves, the sharp edges, the dark, shadowy corners she tries so hard to hide. I want to break down her doors, climb her ivory tower. I want to slay all her fucking dragons. “Brent...” She gasps, fingers running through my hair. “This is real. Tell me this is real.” My eyes jerk up to hers and I cup her jaw in one hand. “It’s real. This is so real I can’t stop shaking.” "And what if... what if the reason I’ve never let myself fall in love with a woman is because I didn’t have anything to give? Because I’d already given my heart to her when we were seventeen years old? And all these years... I’ve just been waiting for her to come back to me with it.”

I’ve been enjoying this series SO MUCH, and thankfully this one wasn’t any different. Between the hilarious banter between these characters and the overwhelming swoons, this is a series that has remained as one of my very favorites. I have to say I really loved (and kinda hated at times too) Brent! He was super entertaining and HAWT!! Of course during the flashback scenes I couldn’t help but hate on him a bit. He was really pretty terrible to Kennedy, and I honestly wanted to scold her as well for putting up with his B.S.!! Kennedy was an easy character to route for. She was feisty and fun and definitely didn’t give into Brent’s advances easily. She made him work for it… and work for it he did!! The chemistry between these two was undeniable. I love romances like this were you can’t help but fall of these two, their relationship, and long for their happily ever after. Another fantastic addition to this amazing series! Time for book 4! Originally posted at Booklovers For Life I’d been looking forward to Brent’s book ever since meeting him in Overruled, and I’m glad to say his story didn’t disappoint! Emma Chase once again delivers a fantastic, hilarious, fun-filled romance with lovable characters that I simply adored. Appealed is a wonderful finale to the Legal Briefs series, and I’m sad to see the series end. Of the three friends, Brent Mason is the charming, laid-back, funny one everyone seems to love. Everyone except Kennedy Randolph that is. They were childhood friends, but a miscommunication back in high school tore their friendship apart, and Kennedy has avoided the man she hates ever since. But now that they’re working on opposite sides of a case, their close proximity brings back the feelings they had for each other years ago. But can Kennedy let go of her hate and let Brent back into her heart? Because now that she’s back, here where I can see her and touch her, where I can talk to her and tease her, maybe even one day make her smile—there’s no fucking way I’m letting her go ever again. I love stories where the main characters grew up as childhood friends, so this book was an absolute joy to read. Add in Emma Chase’s brilliantly funny writing and her wonderful male POV, you get a heart-warming, feel-good story you don’t want to miss. If you’re a fan of the series, you’re going to love Brent and Kennedy! Every single scene between them had me smiling so hard. This beautiful, sweet, strong girl in my arms. She got to me forever ago—under my skin, into my heart—and she’s been there, waiting, ever since. Brent is the absolute SWEETEST, and I loved how determined he is to win Kennedy’s heart. It was good to see him softer, romantic, and more vulnerable, especially since all we’d known of him was his cocky, confident side. Kennedy is the perfect match for him – she doesn’t back down from Brent and she certainly doesn’t give in to him easily. She makes him work for her trust and heart, and you can tell how much Brent treasures those two things. We’re soul mates. Destined to be together, written in the stars, Bogie-and-Bacall perfect. Kennedy doesn’t see it yet—but that’s all right. Because I’m patient. And relentless. When I set my mind on something, there’s nothing I can’t do. And my mind’s on her. Appealed is another winner from Emma Chase. She is probably my favorite author at writing the male POV, and I can only hope she never stops. Sustained is still my favorite of the Legal Briefs series, but Appealed is still a must read! Thanks to the publisher for generously providing me an ARC to review.
