Architectural Association Files Annals of the Architectural Association School of Architecture

P is for Perec and Paris. A double issue of AA Files (45/46) centres on four translated texts by the French writer Georges Perec. In each of these Perec visits a site in Paris (linked to a moment or detail of his life) and records as simply as he can, what he sees and feels at each location. The process is repeated over a number of years, producing a portrait of the sites, the city and the author, and an attempt to describe in words what binds them all.
