My husband and I listened to this book on our way down the blues highway to Clarksdale, MS. Not that that has anything to do to the book - but I chose the book because it was about 9 hours of listening - just a little less than the total time we would be on the road. So what a pleasant surprise to be so taken with this mysterious little thriller. We were constantly pausing the disc to share our theories of what was the likely outcome and what twist was being developed and what turn was about to be explained. We figured it out - but it was only one of many plausible possibilities and it kept us engaged up until the very end. We both found ourselves missing the characters after the book was over. And my husband even wrote a song inspired by the plot. He picked out the tune on the old baby grand piano sitting in the courtyard of the Big Pink Guesthouse on John Lee Hooker Ave in Clarksdale, MS and finished up the words last night.
