Beauty A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast
Reviews

Maybe it's my fault I've expected more out of this book. Maybe it's my fault that my sense of romanticness does not venture into the same direction with Ms.MsKinley's. The last pages were so dull and boring I have to skipped in an attempt to get to the point and finish the book faster. I mean, many things in this book doesn't make sense, but to think about it...maybe that's just my idiocy to expect any sense from a fairy tales at all. I'm so moving on to other books. I'm giving it 2 stars because some parts of it made me smile silly inspite of myself.

I first read this book when I moved to New York; it was the reading material for the fourth grade class I joined that October. I've loved it ever since and, in fact, I do still love it now. So.

i havent finshed it yet

well this was just delightful

The ending was so rushed which sucks since the rest of the book is very enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Beautifully written. The only fault I could find was that the ending seemed too fast paced- probably because I was enjoying it so much. 😀

An instant favorite! I have always loved the beautiful story of Beauty and the Beast, for countless reasons. After reading Robins, Beauty, this tale is instantly a favorite and I will definitely be rereading it. The writing is absolutely beautiful, and the poetic prose is almost like a melody as you read through each page and get lost further in the story. She did a beautiful spin on such a classic tale and it instantly won my heart. I highly recommend this read!

It was a good retelling of Beauty and the Beast, however, not very original and a bit predictable. Which is a given since it is a pretty faithful retelling. It has a few differences, like her sisters and father are not super awful like in the original story. But all the other elements were there: (view spoiler)[her father steals a rose from the Beast, Beauty offers to stay in the castle so her father won't die, she realizes the Beast is not so bad after all and they become friends. She asks to visit her home again and the Beast almost dies, she comes back and says he loves him and all the curses are lifted. (hide spoiler)] I put a spoiler tag for safety, but honestly, we all know the story. The writing was beautiful though and it was an entertaining story. If you love Beauty and the Beast and want to read that story again, I'd recommend it. The audiobook narration was alright, nothing amazing, but not terrible either.
