I haven’t read anything by Slaughter yet and my friend told me to test out this short story to get a feel of her. While I could tell where this story was headed I do enjoy the building blocks of suspense/thriller. I definitely feel like I need a follow up now.

I enjoyed this short story and I kinda loved the ending of it too. The part I'm not super in love with is now I feel the need to read Pretty Girls and I've heard it's a very disturbing book so I'm not sure how I feel about that part of it. 

Oh well. As for this book, I liked the writing style. It felt suspenseful and creative. It had sort of a mood to it that just lent itself to the spooky overall feel of the book.

I enjoyed the main character, though she was pretty much the only character we spent more than a few pages with. 

Overall it was a quick, interesting read. I'll definitely pick up more of Slaughter's books when I'm in the mood for something twisty.
