I haven’t read anything by Slaughter yet and my friend told me to test out this short story to get a feel of her. While I could tell where this story was headed I do enjoy the building blocks of suspense/thriller. I definitely feel like I need a follow up now.

Julia has a long time best friend who's also her roomate and a great boyfriend, she also writes articles for the college paper.. When another blond haired, blue eyed girl went missing, Julia started to dig deeper, and what she found was horrfying, wanting to write an article about it, one of her colleague made some scandalous comments... Julia got the front page, but would this pursuite put her in danger?

PS: Did I mention that Julia had blond hair and blue eyes?

I enjoyed this short story and I kinda loved the ending of it too. The part I'm not super in love with is now I feel the need to read Pretty Girls and I've heard it's a very disturbing book so I'm not sure how I feel about that part of it. 

Oh well. As for this book, I liked the writing style. It felt suspenseful and creative. It had sort of a mood to it that just lent itself to the spooky overall feel of the book.

I enjoyed the main character, though she was pretty much the only character we spent more than a few pages with. 

Overall it was a quick, interesting read. I'll definitely pick up more of Slaughter's books when I'm in the mood for something twisty.
