The theme of this book is the history of monastic (monastic) naming and renaming. The authors tried to answer the questions: when and how did the monk change his name? At what stage of spiritual development did this happen? How important was the change of name? How was the name chosen? Could the name of the monk have changed consistently several times? As there were monastic names? The work is based both on Old Russian and modern material, and is intended primarily for philologists and historians.
