SO GOOD!!!! I am just binge reading this comic series immediately.

One of the most amazing comics I have read so far. The illustrations, the plot, and the characters are so well done. I will definitely read the rest of the books.

I LOVED THIS. Somehow, I loved this volume more than the first one. Everything is just so perfect. From the illustrations to the plot and the characters, you can not find a mistake in this.

AMAZING!!!

I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH AND I INVESTED SO MUCH INTO THE CHARACTERS THAT I CANNOT TAKE MARKO BEING MURDERED. NUH UH! I WILL NOT BELIEVE IT. I hope it is just a dream or something along the lines of that because, just no. Hopefully, other issues come out soon.

A compelling story with gorgeous visuals. At times, it springs into places that make it hard to follow, but overall, it's a Sci-Fi/Fantasy mixed read.

This was a short but cool introduction to this sci-fi story. I like this! A little too aggressive and grotesque however it was a good story!

Still pretty dope

Saga is pretty awesome

2019: Saga is the dopest 2014: Again, so weird yet so compelling.

WHY ISN'T THE NEXT VOLUME OUT YET?!?!?

I'd really say more 2.5, but I'll round up to 3 for the inventiveness of the author. The world of robots and aliens and giant cat creatures was interesting. The main problem is that I just didn't find the main characters likable at all and I felt there was too much gratuitousness here: lots of unnecessary sex scenes, swearing, violence, and general unpleasantness for unpleasantness' sake. It kind of embodies what I find most annoying about "adult" graphic novels in that they usually try too hard to be edgy and lose most aspects of fun. I guess I've just been spoiled to this type of kitchen-sink science-fantasy by Guardians of the Galaxy.

I've missed this series so much 😭❤️

I LOVE MARKO 😭

4.5

If you haven't read a graphic novel and isn't sure where to start this is a great starting comic. Check out Saga Volume 1. Despite the long wait between each volume, I still enjoy saga. There was a lot of action and adventure and Ghus! So true though! This volume was a bit strange, because each issue was given to a set of characters, unlike before where we would get a bit of each character in each issue. I wasn't bad, it was just strange if you don't particularly care for the chosen characters of the issue. I like most of them, so it was okay! I loved that (view spoiler)[ Alana and Marko are back together, loved their interactions with each other and their deep quest to get their baby. They are the main characters and their relationship is what hooked me on the series and I kind of missed seeing them being playful and loving with each other. (hide spoiler)] I really enjoyed it! I loved each character's personal quest and all of their storylines were really engaging, especially Hazel's. I honestly am so happy that I still love the series, though now comes the sad part the long wait for the next volume. I am sure it will all be very worthy.

Popsugar Reading Challenge 2017 - A book with pictures. 4/52 I was never a huge comic book lover until Saga. Saga is the story of two star crossed lovers. Landfall and its moon had been at odds for as long as they can remember. Their war had traveled throughout the whole galaxy making planets choose sides. Until Alana and Marko, two soldiers from each side fall in love and have a baby, coexistence between this two species seemed impossible. Saga starts with the greatest happiness, the birth of their baby and follows with the constant fear that they might lose their little girl to the war. Saga is a mature sci-fi/fantasy story filled with adventure, laughter and great worlds. Each panel made me fall in love with its characters and its story a bit more. Each character that makes even the smaller appearance will stick with you and they go from the bizarre, to the just plain weird. And I love it. I admire Brian K. Vaugh and Fiona Staples so much, how they have managed to understand each other so well, and they each know when it's time to let the other shine. Some of the best parts of the story are when Brian lets Fiona's art speak for themselves without any dialogue or when Staples does a simple background to let the character's dialogue resonate. Saga is at times funny, at others touching, and sometimes even maddening, but every single page has managed to astonish me. It is and will always be one of my favorite comics because it made me fall in love with the genre. And I would recommend it to both comic book fans and non comic book fans. It is a good story, made even better through the great art of Staples. It reminded me of when I was a little kid and what reading a great fantasy novel for the first time felt like. It felt like the discovering of a world where everything was new and wondrous.

Part of me expected the ending, and yet part of me yearned for it not to happen. I dread and yet anticipate the next volume in fear of what other tragedy awaits them.

** spoiler alert ** Rereading for the first time since the hiatus ended and honestly even years later Saga is timeless. I remember the first time i read this volumes, I was a bit disappointed when Alanna did drugs and that whole storyline made me a little bit sad but now rereading as I'm older and someone who's done the joyless work for a few years I can say I get it. And that's just an example over how good this story is. Even years later I was not disappointed and only made me root for this characters once more.

Saga is its own special type of comic. It's so difficult to pinpoint its genre. Even though outwardly is a fantasy/sci-fi comic, but it is so much more than that. The fantasy setting is merely the background, the running social commentary is where the comic really shines through. And its why so many people find it so enjoyable because even those not used to reading fantasy can fall in love with the story. This volumen did not fall behind, it was just as heartwarming and amazing as the volumes behind it.

I am relatively new in the comic book world, but even I, the neophyte of comic book readers knew in the first page of SAGA, that this would be amazing. SAGA is about two star crossed lovers who fall in love in the middle of war and how their love produces a child. There are two armies after them, a few bounty hunters and they have to survive. Saga is the creation of Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples. Fiona Staples is the artist behind the drawings, and I got to say she is one of the best illustrator I've seen. She brings the comic to life with such a simplicity. Most illustrators try to fill in the pages as much as possible to give detail and depth to the story, but just by drawing the characters and not detailing the background as much, she lets the reader fill in the blanks. Overall, SAGA is a great story, that even those of us who have not much experience in the comic book realm can enjoy. If you like Fantasy, you will definitely enjoy this.

I love Saga. It is one of the few series I look forward each year. I know that it can break my heart but I still enjoy it. And this is the perfect example.

Everything is picking up! Can't wait to continue!

Super fun and interesting! I'm not sure if I'm really sold on this yet but I'm still excited to continue on. Let's see where this goes!
