3.25 stars | Nothing much really happened in this volume. I'm not a fan of the artwork in this series so far. The young x-men look as old (if not older) as the adults and it's confusing. The last issue had a different artist and I like the drawing style a bit better. I also felt uncomfortable when Beast had the 'omg Jean is so beautiful, I love her' thought when he was sitting with YOUNG/TEENAGER Jean Grey and he's like 50.

2.5 stars | Not really sure what the hell this volume was about? Someone please tell me if I missed something, but I felt like none of the issues were connected and it was just confusing... Also Maria Hill looked like a child (and that really bothered me for some unknown reason).
To be honest, it amazes me how comic writers are able to make a comic such as this accessible to new readers. I mean reading this was like going into the 5th season of a tv show and wanting to know what had happened before hand. But they did it in a way that made sense, in that people who know everything about xmen would appreciate it and people who knew very little would understand. Thankfully i know a bit, not a lot though. So when reading this and seeing the clever way they managed to explain everything impressed me. Since the reader is actually having the same experience as the original xmen are in the comic book. Both the reader and the characters are going through the same thing. Cant wait to read more of this series. I am really starting to take an interest into xmen.
What is this. Why are they filling up the time with useless plot lines. Scott summers and bobby going out with other teenagers and just hanging out is not what I wanna read when the past two comics have been filled with amazing plot. Whereas volume 2 had a bad beginning and good end, this volume had a good start but bad end. I hope this trend doesn't continue.
The plot is moving along well. However the first two thirds of the book felt very uneventful when compared to the first volume. Half of the second act felt very random and forced, especially the warren/angel and avengers fight with hydra. I felt like it was totally unnecessary. Anyway, the final third of the book was good, as it managed to develop a key plot in the story. Hopefully the 3rd volume will be more eventful than this one.
What is this. Pretty dull volume if I'm honest. Nothing big happens really even though you expect something big to happen. Maybe it will get better in the 5th volume, however I'm slowly losing hope.
(Read as single issues.) I didn't get back into comics until Secret Wars last year so I have a ton that I'm catching up on. Despite not having read an X series since the original Age of Apocalypse event back in...95? I think? I don't feel super confused with this series. For once. Which is nice. This is an easy read and I'm curious exactly what Hank is going to do about this current mess.
Pre-Cyclops is having identity problems. Current-Cyclops is making all these horrible choices but he has to be making them for a good reason because he is himself, right? Actually, all the original X-Men and their current counterparts are really straining to keep everything together because it's weird that their former selves are right in front of them. Jean Grey is getting used to all her developed powers. But she goes a little too far, which makes all the current X-Men a little touchy since we all know what Jean Grey turns into.. and why she isn't still alive with everyone else. To help the confusion, Mystique decides she needs to get involved and quite frankly, someone feels they may need to get on Current-Cyclops' side... the original team is now splitting up. Who and why? and What's next?
