Since I finished Among the Echoes, I just had to know where she would take this story. I was anxious for Sarah to get a book. In the early chapters of Changing Course, I loved Sarah and Brett. It was difficult for me to read about how they fell apart and how Sarah changed as a result of the accident. She did some truly awful things over the course of this series, but I still wanted her to get her happily ever after. I knew it wouldn't be with Brett and that was ok. I just wanted her to have someone. Enter Leo from Among the Echoes. I didn't see this match-up coming at all until Aly knocked me on my ass at the end of that book. But they are such a great match. They're both flawed and have some serious baggage, but the issues they fought were similar and they could relate to each other. They made each other stronger. The chemistry and passion between them was intense. But, so was their guilt over their pasts. Their road wasn't an easy one, but it was just as I think it should have been. If it was too easy, it wouldn't have been believable. No one goes through the things either of them did and become "all better" just because they've met someone who understands them. I've thoroughly enjoyed Aly's Wrecked and Ruined series since I picked up the first book. It's been an emotional journey full of twists and turns. But, that's just how I enjoy my books. I can't think of a more perfect conclusion to the series than what Aly gave us here with Sarah and Leo's story. It was everything the first books in the series were – sexy, emotional and unpredictable. It gave a character I loved at first, but who went wayward, a second chance to fight her demons and find a happily ever after with another character who shouldered a lot of guilt for things in his past. These two worlds collided in a wonderful way. Of course, I loved the other characters earlier in this series too, so it was great to get an update on their lives as well. Broken Course is a great end to a great series. I can't recommend it highly enough. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
