Must read for any marketer and communicator

A must read for any business owner, ideally before building a website or working on any messaging. Buy it - this is a book you’ll want to spend some time with.

This is a really helpful read for anyone looking to get into marketing. As a copywriter, I find the StoryBrand framework really helpful. But, it’s SO salesy. The constant sales pitches are incredibly annoying.

Useful guide on the importance of stories in branding/product positioning.

A quick read with some valuable lessons. Would give it a better rating, but felt like the author is just trying really hard to sell his course to me.

Good, but lengthier than it needed to be.

It's more of a 3.5 stars. The advice in it is very practical, to the point. Yet somehow I felt the examples in the books weren't enough to make a really strong case. I loved the first part of it, cause as a writer I can make use of 7 steps of a story not just when building brands or creating copy for clients, but also keeping in check my own plot line. All in all, it's one of the books that if you apply it to your business/life can make a tangible difference.

A must read for anyone in marketing, sales, or business owners.

The StoryBrand framework is an intuitive, common sense starter guide for clarifying your messaging and bringing resonance to your brand. Building a StoryBrand is an introduction to that framework—tightly focused on walking through each step of the formula and providing useful context along the way. It is a quick read and leads you just far enough to start applying it to your own messaging. The book often comes off a little sales-y, but its serves a specific purpose in the larger constellation of StoryBrand touchpoints, and does it well. I actually came to the book after having discovered the Building a StoryBrand podcast, which really validates the formula by exploring how businesses, brands and entrepreneurs have found success in their own ways. The book is very useful on its own, but its a little shallow if you are looking for more robust examples of how to implement it. If the book is your first exposure to the StoryBrand framework, the podcast provides a much more exhaustive picture of how the various dimensions of the framework come to life in the real world.
