Good story but ending was too abrupt ... as if someone said “wrap this up”. I enjoyed it more for its place in the bigger story of the ongoing series characters.

I've yet to read a Joe Pickett story that I haven't loved but this one really killed it. Joe is sent to Yellowstone to investigate murders that took place in the zone of death. While this story is fictional, the zone of death is real and crazy and the science we could find in Yellowstone is insane. This book has just enough murder mystery and true science to intrigue anyone. Content Warnings: Murder, assault, family trauma, gore.
