Excellent case study on the idea of "reparative" justice and how it could be used in the realm of criminal law. To Murdocca, justice is a hollow concept without considering historical wrongs that cause contemporary problems, particularly for Indigenous and racialised people. The traditional system AND restorative attempts do not fully address these long-term, generational harms which is why a reparative system that uses processes from both would allow for a more holistic approach. Excellent use of social science theory in conjunction with legal doctrine. Sad that this book isn't more well known within the legal field!
