tenhle díl byl sice jeden z těch slabších, avšak mu hodnocení nestrhnu až zas tak moc, protože přece jenom se to četlo úžasně rychle a i když se tam nic moc nedělo, nenudila jsem se. 
řekla bych, že takové 3/4 knihy jsou z pohledu simona, který je pro mě naprostá guilty pleasure postava v celý sérii, takže s tím jsem byla rozhodně víc než spokojená.
co se ale týče jace a clary, tak musím vážně uznat, že je oba nemám ráda. clary mi ani tolik nervy nedrásá, tedy přijde mi, že její personality je hrozně nedopracovaná a já v podstatě ani nevím, kdo naše hlavní hrdinka vlastně je, ale to je jen takový vedlejší postřeh. jace mi ale naopak vadí čím dál tím víc. v prvních dílech to byl takový ten sarkastický chlapeček který si myslí že je nejlepší ze všech a že ho všichni milují - jako ok, pořád díky tomu má tý personality víc než clary - ale ve městě ze skla se začal chovat jako někdo, kdo vás psychicky vydeptá tak moc, že si myslíte, že je vlastně strašnej chudák. nevím, jestli CC napsala jace takhle strašně arogantně naschvál, nebo jestli si vážně myslí, že to je úplně normální a že jace vlastně doopravdy chudákem je.
abych vám dala nějaký příklad; jaceovi se zdají špatně sny o tom, že chce ublížit clary, a tak se vyhýbá jídlu, spánku ale taky i samotné clary, místo toho, aby se sebral, a začal s tím něco dělat. on však jen oplakává sám sebe a 'trestá se tím že trestá ostatní'. drásá mi to nervy a hodně mi to postavu jace jako takového kazí. doufám ale, že se v posledních dvou dílech nějak uklidní a začne se chovat znovu jako drzý, ale vtipný lovec stínů, který mi až tak nevadí.

4*/5*, hodně mě zajímá, jak příběh půjde dál, protože na konci tohodle dílu se jako obvykle zase všechno zvrtlo.

Quite possibly this was my least favorite book in the series (and yet I gave this 4 ⭐️) This was a downgrade from City of Glass which I liked a lot, but the writing here was all over the place. I felt that this book seemed like a filler in many ways and was boring in some parts.

Anyway, I don't want to spoil anyone & I don't trust myself into not starting a rant over the book, so I'll just say it: IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!

I had no realized how long it had been since I had last read about Jace & Clary, but from the start I realized I had always missed them.

The book has LOTS of Simon, he is the sort of mega star of the book, but there's still Clary & Jace (Oh boy if there's about them too).

City of Fallen Angels gives kind of an end to many problems, but at the same time starting new ones. Like the Simon/Maia/Isabelle love triangle is still not completely resolved, but in a way it is. 

I loved the new characters & Cassandra Clare gave up so many twists I never saw coming. I can honestly say it's an awesome addition to the series & the only reason why I didn't put the 5 stars is because of the end, it was awesome, but I can't believe it ended like that!! *whines* So, yes is my kind of protest. READ IT NOW!

Really, I'm just a bit disappointed. I remember being one of the very first people to read Cassandra Clare's series, when the book wasn't popular at all. I was trying to look for a fantasy book that would put Twilight to shame, because I was so sick of that series. And I found it. City of Bones was witty, nicely written, had interesting characters, and a wonderful plot. It was what I had been looking for. I anticipated the next two books with eagerness, and I wasn't disappointed, because she got better and better every time. The third book was really great, and I thought it would have ended then.

...but it didn't. And that was disappointing in itself, because I hate it when authors ruin a perfectly good story. And I didn't really have high hopes for the fourth one. In fact, I had the book in my possession for about 3 months and didn't even bother picking it up. I was afraid it would ruin the story. 

Still, I gave it a chance one day, and started reading. I must admit I like Simon better in this one, but Clary's and Jace's story was a little too sappy. Their relationship did have its tension, which I liked, but... it was a little Twilight-esqe to me. Alex spent majority of the book brooding over Magnus's previous relationships, Maia's old ex-boyfriend comes along, who I didn't actually mind, and Isabelle actually develops feels for Simon by the end. Basically, everyone ends up happy with their significant other, because now there is an equal balanced ratio to both parts. The ending was supposed to be a major cliff hanger, but it didn't really make me excited for the new book. I hate to say it, but this book was a bit fanfiction-y and that was annoying. 

UGH I AM JUST SO MAD WHY COULDN'T THE SERIES HAVE ENDED WITH THE THIRD ONE????

I enjoyed City of Fallen Angels, but I feel like this book really struggled to find its own footing after City of Glass. I do recognize this book is part of a new trilogy (TMI Part 2) so I understand this book is essentially starting a new plot and new build-up. This book felt lukewarm and simply fell flat.

This book mainly focuses on character development. I did appreciate this, especially within Simon's character. I definitely grew to love him and he's one of my favorite characters within the TMI series along with Alec and Magnus. Simon has a much larger part in Fallen Angels than any of the previous three that mostly follow Clary and Jace. I really appreciated this and Simon's internal struggle with his two women (I loved this plotline, I have no reason). Furthermore, I liked the new character Jordan. I think he is really interesting and complex. I hope he has a larger part in the next two books.

That being said, Jace really fell apart. I know it's part of the plot, but I just do not like him. He spends most, if not all, of this book screwing up his personal life like its sport. This drove me crazy. I feel like this is kind of a cheap shot and overall felt really dramatic for no reason. Classic brooding teenage boy.

Ultimately, I believe this book kind of acted as a transition book between TMI part 1 and TMI part 2. I'm not mad at this because the ending few pages definitely set up the next book beautifully. You win some you lose some I guess. Onto City of Lost Souls :P

Wow! That is how this book started and continued to be up until the last four pages. Then it changed to... What! 

This is by far my favorite book in The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I think I liked it, because it was less action-packed than the previous three, but more focused on relationships.

I loved getting to see so much more of Simon. He has this new-found power and just getting more of his awkward teenage boy self was fantastic. I found myself cracking up at the situations he always got himself into. There is sadness in his mom and his relationship at the moment, but I think it can be turned around with time. I also find his love life absolutely hilarious as well and hope that he gets it together soon.

Jordan was a great new character and I thought he added more boy angst. Honestly, I was getting a little tired of the main five, but we got to meet Jordan and see more of Maia which was nice. The little twists involving Jordan were unexpected and enjoyable.

Of course there was Clary and Jace. What to say about them... I have this love/hate going on with them. I like what their relationship is supposed to stand for: that love that can't be broken no matter what, but seriously I just think they deserve a break. I do still think Jace's sarcasm is the best. He is so irritating, you can't help but like him.

How can you not love that? 

Let me just say that the ending left me a little pissed off. It was not what I was expecting. It was all happy smiles and then all of a sudden there is this sudden jerk and you fly backward and hit the wall and you are left contemplating what the heck you just read.

I am extremely curious what is in store for me in the next book.

the teen angst with a sprinkle of demons was just not as captivating this time around

I wasn't sure, based on how the previous book ended, whether Valentine's storyline was done or not. Despite him dying, it seemed like it wasn't over, because to me it wasn't a satisfying ending to his storyline. But oh well, I guess his arc is done.

I really loved the focus on Simon in this book, but I felt a lot of his actions were uncharacteristic of him. I understood the reasoning behind them - him being a new vampire with appeal and suddenly getting attention from girls - but I think he wouldn't have let it go on for as long as it did. I don't know if this is me being too optimistic or not. I think Simon is one of the best characters in this series because he is multidimensional and has an emotional story arc. I wish Clare would take the time to explore Simon's unwillingness to accept that he's a vampire and to learn more about himself. Instead, she just has characters say he is unwilling without showing the inner turmoil he is going through.

Since I'm a plot-based reader, this book was difficult for me. It wasn't until 3/4 of the way through the book that something actually started happening. It's unfortunate because the Lilith storyline is actually pretty interesting and could've been a great new villain. However, this book focused too much on Clary and Jace's problems for the Lilith storyline to take center stage. Not a terrible book, but wasn't my favorite either.

This book went through so much but the cliff hanger it was left is giving me so much reason to start the next one. But I was iffy about the book in the middle but then it got good

Still love this book and everyone but I understand why this is the weakest book in the saga

Felt like a filler book, with both good and bad points. Not my favourite in the series.

SO NOTHING MUCH HAPPENED HERE IN THIS BOOK SINCE JACE CAME BACK TO LIFE AND THE EVIL MAN STOPPED EXISTING. CLARY'S MOM AND LUKE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!

AND FOR SIMON,WELL IT WAS SO AWESOME READING ABOUT SIMON AND HIS CURSE BUT AT THE SAME TIME I FELT LIKE HE WAS MISERABLE BECAUSE OF HIM BEING A VAMPIRE AND STUFF.
ALL IN ALL, IT WAS STILL A GREAT READ!

I was supposed to give this book a 3/3.5 rating but that finale made up for pretty much the ENTIRE thing.

While it's still definitely not my favorite out of the series (I think City of Glass maintains its place so far), I did enjoy this!! It was nice getting back into this world and re-familiarising myself with the characters and the story. That being said, fact is that it felt like a filler - which, in essence, it is, BUT the last few chapters picked up TREMENDOUSLY and left me beyond excited to see what comes next!!
