So glad I finally read this book. The bantering between Aubrey and Chance had me cracking up at times. Liked how the authors broke the story into two parts, spreading the plot out over several years. The fainting goat only added to the story. Loved how Chance called him Mutton.

I wish that I could give this book more than 5 stars because it definitely deserves it. Penelope and Vi have given us a well written story that is just amazing, funny, steamy, and sometimes even a little bit of tears. This so far is my #1 read for 2015. So take a chance and join Aubrey and Mr. Bastardo on their road trip on a long and winding road to love!!

Well, with all the hubbub a couple weeks back with "cocky" books in the romance community, I decided there was no time like the present to read it. I wanted to throw my support behind the authors who came before and what better way to do that than read it and promote it? (Assuming I enjoyed it, anyhow.) It was a fun, sweet and sexy read that even hit me in the feels a couple of times. I was hooked on Chance and Aubrey's story from the very start with their adorable meet cute. I'm a sucker for road trip books and the setting, combined with their banter, made the book magical right off the bat. I listened to the audiobook and I found myself making excuses to be able to listen longer. More time on the treadmill? Sure. Extra time cleaning? Why not. Traffic sucks? Oh well, at least I have this book to listen to! I laughed and swooned my way through the beginning and my heart broke right along with Aubrey's when he disappeared. But man, the reasoning behind it? It totally threw me for a loop. I didn't see that coming. As much as I hated how things went down between them initially, I couldn't help but love watching him grovel and try to win her back. The cocky bastard had a heart of gold and, more importantly maybe, he wore that heart on his sleeve when it came to Aubrey. They gave me the swoons and the feels and lots of laughs, too. I couldn't have asked for more. Oh, and did I mention there's a goat? A deaf, fainting goat? Amazing. I loved that goat just about as much as I did Chance and Aubrey. Even though I already owned the ebook of Cocky Bastard, I decided to snag the audio from the Audible Romance Package. I enjoyed listening to it so very much. Both Michelle Ferguson and Aaron Abano are new-to-me narrators, but I thoroughly enjoyed their performances. They brought Aubrey and Chance to life in a great way. The story was fantastic and their narration only added to it. No matter how you choose to read this one, you're in for a treat. FAVORITE QUOTES "So yeah, you're right. I'm not attracted to you. It's more like I'm captivated by you." "I'm sorry, Princess. For everything. For hurting you. For leaving you behind. For not being there when you woke up. For not being there every day since." "Sometimes, it takes losing everything to make you realize what you really need."

I loved this story. Made me laugh and cry. Beautiful.
