Como se hace una chica / How to Build a Girl

Life sucks for the protagonist of this novel, an overweight teenage girl who touches herself quietly at night so as to not wake her brother; she belong to a big and poor family with a father who is a drunk and a depressed mother.To top it all off, she embarasses herself badly on local TV while reading a poem. She takes this as a sign that it is time to make some decisions about her life.
