I DNFed this book for now

✩ 5*/5*, pokud jste tuhle sérii ještě nečetli, rozhodně to napravte!!

SOOO MANY TWISTS and CRESS N THRONE 😭😭😭 my fave couple fr

This is definitely my favorite book in the series thus far! The romance is adorable and the plot is engrossing.

Cress is definitely now my most favorite book out of the series! One of the many reasons I love found family is the sense of belonging it makes a reader feel, and the Rampion crew perfectly captures it, with their adventures, hilariously perfect comedic timing, and the unpredictable way the course of events falls out. I truly loved this and I still can’t believe that my time with them is almost over! :<

THE COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOKIT ALL THE PRETTY SPARKLES.......................................................... I SWEAR I'M NOT ON DRUGS. I MIGHT BE HIGH FROM SNIFFING BOOKS, THOUGH.

THE SHIPS

I can't believe a couple of months ago I didn't even wanted to read CINDER. I remember seeing its cover in a bookstore and reading its plot and thinking how strange it sounded. And truth is a retelling with Cinderella as a cyborg is pretty strange when you first hear about it, but what makes this work is Marissa Meyer's way of telling the story. Cress, is a retelling of Rapunzel, a fairy tale so well known by me, but despite this I swear there where moments I was reading and I was wondering what would happen next. And when the next scene happened and I looked back on it I would realize it was something that happened in the original story. But Marissa Meyer disguises it so well, that is so easy to think of it as a different story. There are so many retelling out there, but most of them don't change the plot all that much and its so refreshing to read this series that gives us a familiar story, but change things enough to keep us interested. I honestly can't wait for WINTER to be out.

Re-read 2018: Ok, WOW. I honestly think I enjoyed this book even MORE the second time around! I didn’t think that was possible! What a jam-packed adventure! It’s really fun seeing what I remember about the plot and what I don’t. I still love the characters and the romance and the DRAMA. Its wonderful. I do, however, wish that this book had more Scarlet. I understand that there’s so many POV’s and characters but I think she got a little left out of this one. Can’t wait to read Winter, which I don’t remember at ALL! So excited :) *Original review: Oh. My. GOD. This book was GLORIOUS. HOLY CRAP. I mean, I actually can't STAND how good it is. This is one of the best books I've ever read. While all of the books in this series are impeccable, this is by far my favorite. I can't get over how well written it is! I mean, the way everything came together and the writing and THE CHARACTERS. DEAR LORD. The characters of this series are incredible. So multifaceted and realistic and its just a joy to read from their perspectives. And Damn, can Marissa write romance. She does it in this subtle way and always knows when to make it the focal point. I've hard-core fallen in love with each of the main love interests (they're all just so BEAUTIFUL UGHHH). Oh, and the world and the plot are just so easy to get immersed in; I couldn't put it down. And I keep DREAMING about it! The fact that I have to wait until NOVEMBER to read the next (and last) one is actually the most horrible thing ever. Pleaseeee make these next four months go by fast! Well, I'm off to read Fairest. Hopefully my fan-girl heart can wait until November. And just in case I haven't been clear enough or something: DUDE. GO READ THIS BOOK. LIKE, NOW.

I enjoyed this a bit more than Scarlet, it definitely progresses the overall story. Though I fell that compared to Cinder, Cress's story is not as engaging and gets overshadowed by the B story

I really enjoyed this one and Cress is the sweetest! I loved her and Thorne together and really enjoyed seeing the whole squad, well nearly the whole squad together. I’m excited to see what happens next and to meet Winter.

I loved Cress and Thorne so, so much. I do think because so much was happening, they had less screen time than Cinder and Kai or Scarlet and Wolf had in their books, but even with that I still adore them so much. Just like in Scarlet, this book had absolutely no dull moments. Everything was so fast paced and fun and all the romances were so swoony and I need more from each couple. I’m so eager to learn more about Winter and see how I feel about her and Jacin, but first I need to suffer through Levana backstory. As much as I despise Levana, Meyers’s writing is so good, I need to read Fairest.

i love my children

I AM NOW A KAI TRASH BUT I REALLY LOVE THE HAPPENINGS IN THIS BOOK! Did not expect that Dr. Erland and Cress twist, but indeed love everything in this book! 2022 reread who would have thought that two people wandering around the desert was going to be interesting? thorne and cress were such an enjoyable pair to read. and i could never forget... the infamous kai kidnapping! so so good!!!

my fav book in the series + fucking love the 'crew' sm I would licherally die if anything happens to them

maybe this is my favorite

4.25 stars

W-O-W-Z-A. I love fairy tales and their adaptions, but Marissa Meyer takes this to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. I haven't been this glued to a series in a very long time (almost a decade... back when I was in high school). It's seriously amazing that Marissa can pull my attention so well. Seriously, I just ordered the last book of this series. I have read almost an entire series in a few months, which is super rare for me as a reader. And, I have to say, this series pulled me out of my reading slump. It made me fall in love with reading again, so it'll have a special place in my heart. Onto the review: I did not enjoy this book as much as the first two, but it was still mind-blowing. The first half of the book did not pull my attention as much as I wanted it to, but I still love our little Crescent Moon... I mean, Cress. I even had to laugh because Cress and her lover boy gave me serious Tangled vibes. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but I dig the giggles! This book moves faster than the last two. There's twists and turns in almost every chapter and kept me thoroughly hooked. It was disappointing when I had to put the book down because I knew something else was going to happen. I also really enjoyed this book address Cress and her instant love for her rescuer. It felt like a parody as it was also participating fully in the narrative. At times, I felt like it was insta-love but then it'd go and make fun of it. By the end, Cress isn't fully in love with Captain Thorne so it did actually pay off. I'm rather impressed with how this YA tackled that trope. Seriously, Marissa got some real respect from me. And then, the ending. This book leaves on a bit of a cliffhanger (which I hate, by the way), but it did it in a very good way. The book had giggles but it also had absolute terror - murder, genocide and the likes. It seems weird to put that in a review about a fairy tale adaption, but it's true. There were some really bad scenes in this book to show how cruel Levana is. With one book left, Winter is going to have some seriously work to do (but we all know Marissa is a genius, so she'll be just fine). To top it off, this book had some seriously amazing one liners thrown in. Kai talking about his wedding vows was killing me - remove love, respect and joy - like, Marissa, you're killing it! The most frustrating parts of these books for me is the last section of the books either "extra content". I always think I'm getting 400-500 pages full of Lunar plot, but it seems like half the book is reader questions and Q&As with authors. It makes me feel a little cheated, but it obviously doesn't affect the story at all. It's just a pet peeve of mine. In the end, this book was another epic-ly fun read for me. I enjoyed every second of this book (even if it didn't live up to my super high standards). I absolutely will be reading Winter (it's being shipped as I type this!) and I can't wait to see what else Marissa does in her writing career. Books like these make my heart sing - they make my love of reading SO much stronger. But, she does raise my standards a lot higher for other authors... P.S. Thorne gives me Han Solo vibes and we all know I love Star Wars. <3 Five out of five crescent moons!

can't wait for winter!
