Young Derry Lainey finds the unconscious man and takes him home to be cared for by his father. When the man regains consciousness, he has no idea who he is. Then Lorn Catlin and his gang arrive in town, and Catlin claims that the stranger is his brother Avery. But is he really Avery Catlin, or is his supposed brother intent on keeping the true past a deadly secret?
