Reviews

My Review: (May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading this review)
Dangerous Temptation and Beautiful Nightmare is a duet that I have been wanting to come out since it first released. I had seen quite a few mixed reviews for it though, which is why it took so long in digging into this one here. I also was able to listen to this one here.
Dangerous Temptation is the first book and this is where we get the introduction into our couple and seeing the beginning of what draws them together. There is quite a bit of angst that delves into their relationship. They both hate each other lol At first its the hero that is being a jerk to the heroine, so that builds on the tension between them. The heroine is strong in her own way, but she responds to the tension that the hero displays.
I will be honest that there are issues with this book that might not work for everyone. The heroine is 17 (so a bit underage) but the hero is in his late twenties, so the age gap isn't too horrible as its within the ten years about. I did have issues with the tension that is between the hero and heroine. It really doesn't even get fun until the very end of the book with the cliffhanger haha And it also seemed to me it was all about sex, there didn't seem to be any evolvement in their relationship that wasn't about that. And I definitely need more from my books than that.
Overall while it had a great promising start in aspects of the reading and the narration really pulling me into the story, and the mystery between the rivaling families, the romance so far is a bit meh.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and options are my own. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK. It’s a must. Okay, let me try and calm down. I had to take a full day away from reading to figure out my feelings for this book and I think I'll be able to get my feelings down. This book was one of my most anticipated reads of this year and it was worth all of the waiting. Yet another couple from Giana Darling that I love so much. These two are a VERY close second to Zeus and LouLou. When main characters have such a connection like these two, it’s hard not to love them. I was so engrossed in this book from start to finish. I couldn't and wouldn't put this book down for anything. I was transfixed and had to read this in one sitting. I loved this book so much and I love Tiernan Morelli and Bianca Belcante with all of my heart. Tiernan Morelli is cruel, broken, alphahole, and I love him for it. Bianca Belcante is a sweet, innocent, naive, a heart of gold who will do anything for her sweet little brother. They’re imperfect, filled with secrets, lies and tension. It's a book that I will highly recommend to anyone who will listen to me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ever since I discovered the Midnight Dynasty world, I cannot get enough of it. Dangerous Temptation brought me the story of Tiernan Morelli, the black sheep of the Morelli family, so of course I needed this age-gap enemies-to-lovers forbidden dark romance! "If I order you to your knees, Bianca? You get on your knees, and you do it with a gracious smile." The chemistry between Tiernan and Bianca was off the charts. I mean, Tiernan is a villain through and through, especially to Bianca, which makes the tender moments oh-so sweet and swoon-worthy! The story is also filled with twists and turns and all the deliciousness that brings with a forbidden romance. "I effectively own you now. And I intend to enjoy it." I enjoyed the moments between Tiernan and Brandon, Bianca's brother. I adore how Brandon looks up to him and looks forward to spending time with this dark and serious man. Also, the way Tiernan's friend care for Bianca and Brandon in just such a short amount of time had my heart getting all tingly. (Can a heart tingle?) Dangerous Temptation is highly addicting. Tiernan Morelli could have me on my knees with just one look. I cannot wait for the next book in this duet, because it promises to be sizzling hot!

giana darling never disappoints 😫

After Biancas mother died she was left with her brother and no guardian. Exactly as Tiernan wanted her. A pawn in a game she was clueless in. Dangerous Temptation was so easy to fall into. Tiernan has the perfect soft/hard persona that the reader has no idea what side they will be getting. This trait is what I felt made him addicting. Bianca was thrusted neck deep into a wicked game with a new guardian, taking care of her brother, a new school with twisted family rivalries, and a truck load of secrets. This romance was taboo but I feel like that is one of Giana Darlings specialties. Tiernan was scared both mentally and physically from being the black sheep in his family that is made him have such an interesting and addicting character and I felt like Bianca really complimented him. Dangerous Temptation was very plot thick with lots of different things going on while still being a romance. I felt as though Giana did an amazing job (as always) of connecting all the dots so it made sense.

This was my first read by Giana and she absolutely in-captured me with her poignant, vivid story telling. Once I started this book I simply did not put it down. From start to finish there is no lull or repetition, just straight up fire chemistry. The back and forth between Tiernan and Bianca is beyond palpable! I was salivating for more of their interactions with the flick of every page. Both characters are hardened by life yet they can’t deny the flame burning between them. I needed book 2 like yesterday!

4.5 ★ this was an excellent first half to the dark dream duet! I was living for the tension between Tiernan and Bianca, two extremely quick witted and hot tempered people. After her mother dies unexpectedly, Bianca (17) and her brother Brandon are forced to move in with their mother’s much younger ex boyfriend, Tiernan (30). Tiernan seems like the selfless family friend taking in the kids, but he’s got ulterior motives that are much more devious. We learn a little bit about Tiernan’s family (the Morellis) and their secrets and drama as well as the Constantine family, their biggest rival. Secrets slowly begin to reveal themselves as we learn why Tiernan decided to play guardian to Bianca and Brandon. But as their stay at his house continues, he develops a soft spot for both of them. Bianca’s brother Brandon is sick, and seeing Tiernan’s relationship with him develop was so cute. I also adored the house staff and how much they loved Brandon. Bianca constantly infuriates Tiernan, yet he can’t help but want her. But of course he is keeping some big secrets 👀 I wish there had been a little more info on some of the Morelli/Constantine history. I know it’s a duet and i’m sure a lot will be cleared up in book 2, but I did feel a little lost at times. This duet is part of the much larger Midnight Dynasty series, so maybe some of that information i’m lacking is in those books. However, I do believe these are all able to be read as standalones, meaning you don’t need to read all the other books in the Midnight Dynasty series. It’s really excited for book 2, I feel like so many things were set up in this book to be revealed in the next. The ending of this one had me both stressed and counting down the days til we get more!

This book was… okay. I’m all for taboo, age-gap stories, but why did she have to be 17? Making her 18 wouldn’t have changed the story. Some of Tiernan’s inner dialogue was cringe as hell. Brando is an angel that deserves to be protected at all costs, though. I adored him.

3 ⭐️ Genre: Romance Age group : Adult POV : Dual Characters: 5/5 ⭐️ Plot: 3.5/5 ⭐️ Setting/Themes: 3/5 ⭐️ Writing: 3.5/5 ⭐️ Spice : 3/5 ⭐️ • Please check TWs & CWs • mature language, sexual scenes, torture, physical abuse of a minor, murder, death, neglectful parent, predator/prey play, kidnapping, violence • guardian/ward romance • enemies-to-lovers “A monster who is your new daddy. Now, get in the car.” Alright, so I did like this, but not as much as I wanted to. There was angst, there was “I hate you, but I definitely want to rail you” vibes. I liked the storyline and am intrigued for the next book :)) (Do be warned, Bianca is 17, Tiernan is 30). Honorary mention of Hitchcock & the Khatris, Cs they’re desi <33

I was so excited for DANGEROUS TEMPTATION; I love a good age gap and forbidden romance and this sounded right up my alley, but I just didn’t end up caring about the characters or the story at all (except for sweet Brando!). TEMPTATION ends on a cliffhanger and I generally hate those because I’m left feeling completely gutted and anxiously awaiting the next release, but I don’t know if I feel anything more than slight curiosity to see where this story goes. The story moved much too slowly for me and didn’t feel as if it actually picked up until the end. Perhaps TEMPTATION was just setting the scene for the final book in the duet, but I struggled to finish this book and almost put it down at several points. Admittedly, I wonder if I would’ve been more invested had I known more about the world of Bishop’s Landing already. I’ve read books about the Constantines and Leo Morelli before, though, so while I’m not well versed in the universe I’m at least familiar with it. Still, that may have had an impact on my reading experience. Thank you to Valentine PR for the early copy in exchange for my honest review.
