⭐️ 3.5 Stars ⭐️ It was pretty addictive. I read it with the audiobook and the narrator is so good and definitely helps to the creepy vibe! I wasn't sure how this series works, I heard somewhere that every book is like a stand-alone with different couples which ISN'T THE CASE HERE. I also was SURE it's steamy, and because there was no spiciness in this book I guess it's a slow burn. I was a little disappointed when I realized there isn't going to be spice, but I'm honestly happy we're staying with the same couple and that there's more from them. I will keep reading the series and hopefully, the spice will arrive in the next books!

This book was creeeepy..... Likable characters with a hint of a romance to come! I will definitely continue with this series....I have to know what happens with Perry and Dex!

I feel like I just read a very long chapter of a 2010 supernatural romance fanfic...slightly problematic? Yes. Will my curiosity take the best of me and start reading book 2 immediately? Hell yes.

4 Excited For More Stars! "Regardless of evil curses, Old Roddy, or Creepy Clown Lady, falling for this man would be the scariest thing of all." This was a promising start to a series that I wasn't sure I'd like! Although originally afraid that the horror genre would be a bit too much, I was surprisingly sucked into the world of ghosts and a haunted lighthouse, not to mention the quirky cast of Dex Foray and Perry Palomino! Perry Palomino: She is not your typical heroine. She's insecure and imperfect. She's led a troubled life with drugs and weight problems, yet still remains lovable and quirky, and by quirky I mean she can see dead people! Her struggles with her insecurity and her sarcastic sense of humor made her very lovable. To the outside world Perry may seem insane, but when she stumbles upon Dex Foray in an abandoned lighthouse, her situation becomes a whole lot clearer... “Somehow, by dealing with the dead, I had never felt so alive.” Dex: Hmm, it's hard to put into words what I felt for Dex Foray. I both loved and hated him. Mostly loved. Dex Foray is a ghost hunting cameraman/composer/anything else that's behind the scenes. He's moody and intriguing; strange, and sometimes an ass. But a lovable ass. He's an ass that leaves you wanting more. He had moments where I wanted to strangle him, and then there were times that he stood up for Perry that made me love him. I found it realistic that Dex wasn't immediately attracted to Perry. I wished he would have been, but it's realistic none the less. In fact, I'm not sure if he even is attracted to Perry at all. He does have a Maxim model girlfriend at home. I can sense that I might have a love/hate relationship with Dex Foray in the future. Mostly love though! "She's smart, she's funny and she's not afraid to take risks. Not to mention that she's beautiful, sexy and charming. You know it and I know it, and soon everyone else will know it. The only person who doesn't know it is her because of archaic fuckheads like yourself telling her otherwise." Armed with video cameras and their cell phones, Dex and Perry team up after their haunting meeting to take on the ghost world...setting off a scary, entertaining, and humorous story that left me reeling and wanting to immediately immerse myself in the world of Dex and Perry! In conclusion, I'm not going to give an in depth review for this novel, since I don't want to spoil anything for anyone! It was an awesome introduction to a promising series that I would recommend for everybody! As for the love story aspect, be patient if you don't get what you want right away! There was little to no romance in this installment, but I'm okay with that since it sets up a nice slow build for the characters to fall in love! Loved it! P.S. Thanks for for my GR buddies who kept pushing me to read it!! And having Dex at my side helped too. In fact, I don't think I would be able to go on if it wasn't for him. Somehow he made the dreams, the scares, the unknown, all bearable. And now, after talking to him in this cold, rain-beaten car parked on the side of the coastal highway, I felt I was one step better to under-standing him.

3.5 – not a bad start to a series! I do want to read more because I've heard the series gets better and I want to see more romance!
