Mom had this as an audiobook stuffed away somewhere, and I found it. She said she'd gotten bored and hadn't finished it; I decided to give it a try. Threw it on in the background while cleaning out my room [epic project, let me tell you] and after the first 30 - 45 minutes, it actually got pretty interesting. I zoned in and out as I got distracted, but I was able to follow the story easily. The end made it feel like it could have been an old radio program or a black and white film - a little gimmicky, a little predictable, and entertaining because of it. Things cited as flaws in other reviews [restating details too often, too many explanations of what would otherwise be subtle references] are actually good qualities as an audio book. The reading was well done, by a single individual. My first Baldacci book, it was about what I expected and I appreciated it for that. I'm actually in the process of listening to it again [over a series of long drives]. I stopped reading books like this a while ago, but it was a nice break from what I read now and kind of fun. I'd pick up another by Baldacci as a vacation read.
