Evangelicalism and Fundamentalism in the United Kingdom During the Twentieth Century
Should evangelicalism be seen as the Christian version of fundamentalism? This volume presents evidence of Christian fundamentalist activity in the United Kingdom during the twentieth century. On the basis of this empirical evidence the authors examine the nature of the relationship between evangelicalism and fundamentalism. The essays show that fundamentalism certainly existed in Britain, that evangelicals did sometimes show tendencies in a fundamentalistdirection, but that evangelicalism in Britain cannot simply be equated with fundamentalism.
