Delilah Dirk and the King's Shilling

Tony Cliff2016
Globetrotting troublemaker Delilah Dirk and her loyal friend Selim are just minding their own business, peacefully raiding castles and traipsing across enemy lines, when they attract the unwanted attention of the English Army. Before they know it, Delilah and Selim have gotten themselves accused of espionage against the British crown! Delilah will do whatever it takes to clear her good name, be it sneaking, skirmishing, or even sword fighting... But can she bring herself to wear a pretty dress and have a nice cup of tea with her mother? Delilah Dirk may be defeated at last. By tulle...in Tony Cliff's Delilah Dirk and the King's Shilling.

Delilah Dirk is as badass in this second volume as she was in her first. Returning to England to save her reputation, readers find out she's part of a rather well-to-do family that knows nothing of her exploits. It's up to Selim and Delilah not only to ensure that the Dirk name remains untarnished, but to save the entire British army from a treacherous trailor! The King's Shilling is substantially longer than the Turkish Lieutenant, and at times it feels a bit too long. On the other hand, readers get more art of Delilah being amazing, so I can tolerate the more drawn out plot. If you are looking for a strong female character who is fun, complex, and really good with a sword, I would highly recommend checking out Tony Cliff's books!
