  • - I definitely liked the overall concept for this book

  • - I enjoyed bouncing between the different stories and cutting back to them at different points throughout the evening. I wish there had been more in the second half

  • - The character of Tammi having anxiety was a good decision in my opinion. I was almost hoping for her to have a panic attack in order to see his reaction

  • - When reading 'Mask Off' I liked it however we didn't bounce back and it was very near the start making it feel distant. I wanted more!

  • - This goes for the majority of the stories. I have not read short stories before and I wish I got to see more of each character

  • - I liked that the last story was dual POV

  • - We got to see a different trope in each story and in the love triangle (No sleep till Brooklyn) I was left wanting more. I understand the message, but it was less fun

  • - I do think that the target audience was people of colour because I found myself not understanding parts. I didn't get the various negative references to white people (specifically men) as if being white is an insult. The intention seemed to be to let other races understand a black person's POV however that doesn't mean you have to insult other races. What would have been more realistic to me is if a variety of races were included as love interests or even background characters as we don't live in a world of just one race

This book was a fun read. It was a collection of short stories which all interconnected like a bookish version of Love Actually. I love when books and series feature easter eggs or meta elements so this was perfect for me This was written by a collection of authors during lockdown and I think the inspiration behind the project was brilliant. This book features POC characters and was written by POC authors and I enjoyed the diversity

the different story lines all being connected was so fun to read, the characters were really lovable but i wish some the storylines had a bit more a conclusion. overall a really good book. 10/10 would read again

a really fun and cute feel good ya romance—but not just one story, several that weave and bob about one another in the midst of a new york city blackout. think: love actually but instead of christmas, it’s got a similar setting/characters to in the heights (and tbh this is the better-constructed nyc blackout story… sorry lin) also, a book that celebrates black authors and black voices with an all black cast of main characters. read this if you want some warm fuzzies and to remember what the rush of choosing love feels like.

Just so good! Six stories, that are connected some way or another, but that would stand all by themselfs. Six great Autors, i loved it

This is a book filled with the reality of love. I absolutely loved each one of these stories that these authors told. I felt so connected to some of the characters and their experiences with love. I think that this is a must read for everyone because this book is so fun and so different from anything I have ever read. It was interesting to see what people share when the lights go out. My favorite stories in this collection are The Long Walk by Tiffany D. Jackson and All The Great Love Stories...and Dust by Dhonielle Clayton

It was a fun book and the romance was soooo beautiful. I loved the fact it contained lgbtq. The reason why u won’t give the book 5 stars is because I thought some of the ‘stories’ were shorter than u expected them to be. And I got the feeling it would continue but it didn’t. For the rest, it was an easy read and I fell in love with literally all of the characters.

That's the thing about finding the right person to love. When someone loves you, all their hang-ups don't really mean much. Because loving that person is a choice you have to make love every day, even when that day isn't what you expect.
