I don't make a habit of harping on poor grammar in books, but the fact that it's consistent throughout this series is incredibly disheartening. Not to mention that calling the characters two-dimensional is giving them one dimension too many

This was fine, probably not as good as the first one. Although, that could be because this one felt like it re-pointed out all of the issues that I had with the first one, so I ended up docking my rating on this one. It's mainly the writing; there are certain things this author does that seem so juvenile, and many times where I have had to re-read a sentence or paragraph in order to understand what she meant to say. That's fine, but inconvenient. Again, the storyline was fine, but it could have been told better. There is also a way that the author could have given more details, while making it make more sense. Idk, it was fine. Probably won't read the last book in the trilogy - we'll see.

Dr. Brown, the new headmaster of Blackbrook Academy is now running the school, while trying to rebuild its reputation following the murder of Headmaster Boddy that took place the year before, and the Murder Crew is back. Plum is obsessed with finding his dye, but all of the secret passages have been sealed. Peacock has a new life coach that is helping her deal with the drama from the year before and prepare her to star on the tennis team. Orchid and Vaughn have grown closer, but they still don't know each other's secrets. Everyone is preparing for the upcoming standardized tests with the added pressure of college admissions riding on their scores, when another body is found. It was very tough to reconnect with the characters for a large part of In the Study with a Wrench, and then a couple of big surprises seemed to come out of the blue. However, even though the mystery is a bit hard to follow, the end of the book is exciting, and the resolution satisfying. Overall, this is a good entry in the Clue Mystery series.

I'm really enjoying this series because it kinda perfectly balances the campiness of the game and the movie with the drama of a YA thriller and the whodunit whichwaythatway following multiple stories and clues and plot lines of a murder mystery. I wasn't quite as taken by this one as the first one, but I think that's just because last time I had a lot of questions and got some answers, now i have questions about how th things I already got answers for will play out, plus new, different questions. In conclusion, if we could hurry up and get the third book, that'd be great by me.
